Contributed to this week's Disquiet Junto - the objective was to make a piece of music using a recording of vibrating plasma waves taken by the Voyager 2 spacecraft as it passed out of our solar system. 

I took the sample, brought it into my modular synth, looped it, and FM'ed the output with a sequenced oscillator. I set up a patch where I could 'play' the sample so that I would have hands-on control. I did a few takes to get it (mostly) right, I'm manually adjusting frequencies and the number of steps in the sequence which are allowed to play.

Voices From Within

An extract from a composition I created for a collaborative performance for the Nocturne 2018 festival in Halifax, Nova Scotia. I wrote software that uses weather data to generate music on the fly, which will be set up as a 6-channel installation at the Immigration Museum at Pier 21. Nocturne takes place on Saturday, October 13th from 6 pm onwards.
