I may have came across his music only a year ago, but Lil Dicky has become one of my more refreshing artists in this bloated cesspool of trap sensibilities, aggressively sexual R&B and the like. With an interesting mix of "average Joe" humor to sometimes mask his dense lyricism, many have been clamoring for Dicky to release his debut project, Professional Rapper for a while now.

Now it appears that fans will get what they've been hoping for. Dicky has announced that his long-in-the-works debut album now has a targeted release date of July 31st. Professional Rapper will be a 16-track affair, which will contain the previous drops "Lemme Freak," "White Crime" and "Classic Male Pregame."

After dropping his mixtape So Hard in 2013, and cultivating a rabid fan base with his blend of rap and comedy, Lil Dicky has dedicated the last two-years tediously honing his craft as a lyricist, and is ready to be taken seriously as an emcee. "I really ended up falling in love with rap in the process and I don't see myself going away from it anytime soon," Dicky said in a recent interview. "The mixtape to me felt like a comedian who is really good at rapping, whereas I think my debut album feels like a good rapper who's funny. It's subtle but there's a difference." Professional Rapper will showcase Dicky - whose influences include JAY Z and Drake - as an evolved and confident lyricist with skills that have caught the attention of some heavy-hitters in the rap game. "I have some great collaborations on the album and a couple of them will probably shock a lot of people. I'm excited to see how my fans will react when it's time to reveal the line-up."
Dicky will also hit the road this summer for a series of concert dates and festival stops. Check below to see if he will hit a stage near you.

Kendrick Lamar Duckworth (born June 17, 1987) is an American hip hop recording artist from Compton, California.[1] Lamar embarked on his musical career as a teenager, under the moniker K-Dot, releasing a mixtape which garnered him local attention and led to him signing with Carson-based independent record label, Top Dawg Entertainment (TDE). Lamar began to gain major recognition in 2010, after his first retail release, Overly Dedicated. The following year, he released Section.80, his first independent album, exclusively through iTunes. The album spawned Lamar's debut single, "HiiiPoWeR" and was instantly ranked as one of the top digital hip hop releases of the year.[2] By that time, Lamar had amassed a large Internet following and had already worked with several prominent artists in the hip hop industry, including The Game, Snoop Dogg, Wiz Khalifa, and Busta Rhymes.

Lamar would later secure a recording contract with a major label in 2012, when he signed with Aftermath and Interscope Records. His major-label debut album, good kid, m.A.A.d city, was released in October 2012 to widespread acceptance. The record contained the top 40 singles "Swimming Pools (Drank)", "Bitch, Don't Kill My Vibe" and "Poetic Justice". Upon its release, the album debuted at number two on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and was later certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). In early 2013, MTV named Lamar the No. 1 "Hottest MC in the Game", on their annual list.[3] He also received a total of seven nominations at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards (2014), including Best New Artist, Album of the Year and Best Rap Song. A year later, at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards (2015), Lamar won Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for his single "i". In March 2015, Lamar released his third studio album, To Pimp a Butterfly, which incorporates elements of funk, spoken word poetry and jazz. It topped the charts in various countries, including the U.S. and the UK. Apart from his solo career, Lamar is also known as a member of the West Coast hip hop supergroup Black Hippy, alongside his TDE labelmates and fellow South Los Angeles-based rappers Ab-Soul, Jay Rock and Schoolboy Q.[4]
