Dan Abel is a renaissance man of the untz, and a pillar in Melbourne’s dance music community.

As one of the driving forces behind several successful music brands; Red Moon, Renegade, SixthSense and Live Presents, as well as the artist promotion company Around Town Australia, Dan has done much to make the scene a better place, all with the ultimate goal of making Melbourne’s scene the best in the world.

His work has also seen him become involved with other well established brands including Elysium Gathering, Enchanted Garden Party and Bush Techno. 

His passion for facilitating well-intentioned dance spaces has naturally lead him to delve deeper into the world of DJing. Influenced by the sounds of 80’s rock, blues, jazz and dubstep, Dan has become a shogun of eclectic selections with a broad taste throughout the musical spectrum, a versatile selector who navigates multiple genres and soundscapes. Dark disco, hypnotic techno, progressive house, deep tech, psychedelic - he can throw it all down. Although only in the early stages of his DJing career Dan has played at festivals throughout the country including Esoteric and Rabbits Eat Lettuce as well as some of Melbourne's most respected underground clubs. 

For this mix he takes listeners on a groovy journey through the spheres of deep tech and minimal house. Tune in and enjoy!

VOLUME 26 of TOASTCAST is brought to you by AJ Walker

AJ walker has blessed the TOASTCAST airwaves this month with a groovy mix that will take you on an inward journey of electronic and rhythmic bliss. AJ started producing music 4 years ago, inspired by childhood memories of digital sounds from video games and tv shows. His latest release on RIZOUND, a local Melbourne label, showcases a style that sits between minimal house and chill rave. Aj's mix for us features a great style blending, micro, minimal and underground house that will keep you on your toes. We hope to see him play at one of our future events and we hope you enjoy! xx

TOASTCAST VOL 26 - AJ WALKER

Introducing Emma Renée for Volume 27 of the TOASTCAST! 

Half Dutch / Half Irish, Emma grew up in Belgium before relocating to Melbourne a few years ago. After falling in love with the Australian dance music and festival scene, she started coming to our events and before long had become part of our core crew of music-loving mates.  

Emma has put together a set for us that will make you want to get up and dance. From melodic trance to full on rave, this is a mix bursting at the seams with energy!

We're also stoked to announce she'll be playing her debut TOAST show for us at Glamorama on Sunday 12 December. Come down for a boogie and see what Emma is all about!!

TOASTCAST VOL 27 - EMMA RENÉE

It's been a hot minute between mixes but we're delighted to be back with the 28th instalment of the TOASTCAST, brought to you by PAOX. 

Originally from the UK, PAOX grew up listening to the sounds of the 90's underground rave scene.

He draws on that same energy throughout his sets, curating a high tempo soundtrack that not only fits the mood but elevates the atmosphere.

TOASTCAST VOL 28 - PAOX

Volume 29 of the TOASTCAST is brought to you by Pharis. 

A South Korean techno producer, Pharis has been making a name for himself in the Australian music scene. He has released his productions through Melbourne techno label Machine, and has collaborated with fellow Korean producer Chanjo together as ‘Parallel 38’; as well as Melbourne producer Composite Cone to create notable EPs - such as ‘Red Alert’ and ‘Counterforce’. His work has also been released via the compilation album 'Believe in Freedom of Choice and Democracy' from Polish record label 999.

Pharis' brand of techno is deep, driving, and hypnotic - a unique sound which he has brought to MOTION Festival, as well as various secret raves + club dance floors around the city.

A versatile selector who you can book for a balearic bar gig or to sling pumping tunes at peak time, PETRA has played at Pitch as well as a collection of Naarm / Melbourne's most iconic venues - including Revolver, Section 8, The Nightcat, ATET, Electric, among others. 

She's also supported the likes of Jamie Jones and will be handing over the decks to none other than Cinthie at Revolver this Boxing Day. She'll also be playing at Goodroom with us before making her way over to revs so make sure you come down to support ;)

TOASTCAST VOL 30 - PETRA

The TOASCAST is back! We've decided to get our butts into gear and upgrade our toaster, discovering a new and improved model which will toast one mix a month for you to enjoy. Sounds like delicious cooked bread! 

Meet Ben Kennedy, who brings us the recipe for Volume 31. He is from Dublin, Ireland and has been living in Australia for 3 years. Ben has always had a huge passion for music. It started off by playing the guitar and drums as a kid and later transitioned into electronic music where the urge to learn how to DJ began. 

Ben has been DJ’ing for just under a year now and has had the pleasure of playing at Circus, Killing Time and a few other bars and clubs on the Southside of Naarm / Melbourne. 

Over the last year he has built up a fairly hefty vinyl collection with his main goal moving forward to play records all around Melbourne and share his love for house music.

His mix for us is a tasty one, perfectly toasted and garnished with spreads like house, breakbeat, acid and even some trancey elements thrown into the mix. Now that's some good TOAST!

Volume 32 of the TOASTCAST is brought to you by Anna B! 

UK born, Naarm/Melb based Anna B has been making waves in the local dance music scene as of late. 

Regularly featured on line ups for Novel, Glamorama, and Supernature to name a few, she is also the host of The Glow Up on Area 3000 and recently launched her own event series, Sweet Gemini. 

Brought up on the sounds of the 90s and old school UKG, these influences are evident throughout Anna's sets which are filled with inspired selections and bursting with energy.

Volume 33 of the TOASTCAST is brought to you by long time friend of the crew, JUGGY. 

Chris (aka JUGGY) has probably been to every single one of our events - always supporting the crew, and never missing a beat on the dance floor. After being a longtime punter, Chris took to learning the art of mixing during lockdown, and along came JUGGY. 

JUGGY has found his musical niche in the realms of deep, minimal and micro house. He loves hunting down these tracks from producers around the globe, recently linking up with a handful of local legends who share a similar passion for these deep and groovy sounds. 

His mix is expertly crafted and ebbs between micro and deep house, with a little tangent into breaks. That's enough from us though, we'll let the music do the rest of the talking. Enjoy! 🍞 xx

She’s gained a strong reputation in the dance music scene by consistently delivering high-energy sets that leave a lasting impact. Tyff has been called up to support some of the biggest techno names in the world including Ben Klock, Trym, Shlomo, Indira Paganotto, ANNA and DJ Life - there’s no wonder the hype around her is growing exponentially.

TOASTCAST VOL 12 - DESINFORMANT B2B RAEL

Volume 19 of the TOASTCAST is brought to you by Sydney-based selector, Cricket. 

Cricket is fairly new to it, having only taught herself how to DJ over the last year - though you certainly wouldn't know listening to her mix. After travelling through Europe in 2018, she amassed a huge collection of vinyl and has since been obsessed with spinning wax and producing with Ableton. 

She loves unearthing unknown content and merging genres, bringing into play her musical roots in jazz, and fusing it with house, techno, afrobeats and disco. She’s a bedroom producer who samples her own collection, and now exclusively DJs vinyl in livestreams and gigs. She loves creating bouncy vibes that are boog. 

Her TOASTCAST is deep, melodic, percussive and rhythmic. She's meticulously selected her tracks to create an expansive, pumping journey which teeters through deep house and D&B, with ambient, uplifting vibes to transport listeners to a happy place.
