This is a remix I done for a Metapop remix contest for Yukijo (I got 2nd place :D). This is a very different style than I'm used to and I tried to keep things very simple since I tend to be way too detail-oriented with my tracks (and also because I only had 3 days to work on this track because of deadlines lmao). I chose "Self Chase" as the title of this song because I always loved the idea of believing that the future version of yourself is this sort of amazing being which you highly look up to, a version of yourself that you want to chase and become one day.

时空中游荡着的万千生灵，化作群星在宇宙生生不息。
 
在漫长的极夜里，人类喜欢躺在冰川之上。将头骨贴近冰面，将双眼望向群星。悠远的历史长音会从千年的冰层之下振入大脑，投射而出的目光将与游动的魂灵汇成长河。
 
在几千年以前，逝去的生命喜欢在清冷的夜晚顺着月光滑入宇宙。灵魂腾空的声音卷起大风，吹拂过孤岛上的海礁与百米高的红杉树林。
 
当漂浮于宇宙的魂灵拥有了可以压倒星球的重量，群星运动的轨迹，便化作高维的语言，沿着时间写下传递给神明的信息。而维度之下，文明与历史正斗转星移。
 
农场中，沉重的磨盘缓缓转动，如同巨人的牙齿在咀嚼。农场之外，那片被灵魂支撑起的，没有黑夜的世界，生命与生命之间正放肆的相爱着，丢下记忆与未来，偏安在美好的时间夹缝之中。

13 writers putting pen to paper, 65 musicians composing pieces inspired by their writing, and 26 visual artists tying everything together with a cover illustration. From April 23rd to May 13th, 2023, these 104 creatives came together with one goal: to tell a story. The result amounted to thirteen beautiful tracks, rich with emotion, excitement, and wonder.

Stories take on infinitely many forms. A child's drawing. A home-cooked meal. A recount of the day given by someone returning home to their spouse. They do not have to be written, nor spoken with any amount of poetry or decorative language; they simply exist. Here's to the stories we tell. Whether written, drawn, or sang, whether a fantastic fable or a solemn look into the human experience, they all carry weight. We have no greater obligation than to simply tell them in whatever way we know how. 

All proceeds from Storybook: Chapter 2 will be donated to Active Minds, an organization supporting mental health awareness and education for young adults.
