Following a series of self released records, TT are proud to present
the first label release from Pittsburgh based artist VRBA, Willow
Scythe.

Distinguished by an unparalleled sense of space, VRBA’s
production moves fearlessly across sonic thresholds. The album
moves quickly between warped choruses and obscured sonic
hazes punctuated with spongy drums. The listener is dropped in
the centre of VRBA’s sonic narrative, an all encompassing place
neither interior or exterior but wholly it’s own, drums skitter and
pulse to their own rhythm, a chord descends and never comes
back.

Premiering alongside the release will be an audio visual
collaboration with the 3D artist & designer Adrienne Cassel
exploring narrative and corporeal elements of the music.

Willow Scythe is released via TT on April 16th

a. Yunzero, or Jim :)

q. is there a story behind the mix?
a. Just artists I love, mostly chill. I don’t DJ, so I love the challenge. There’s a lot of music from the 2000’s, very cut and paste, some wonky-era beat stuff that I slowed down, local gems, music to really chill to.. but not TOO much. Btw there was a Venetian Snares track in this mix that I took out because it ruined the vibe, but listen to “Shoot Myself”, it’s beautiful 

q. what’s the best way to enjoy your mix?
a. Beer and a beanbag

q. describe a favourite object in your living room…
a. There’s a “no smoking” sticker stuck exactly in the middle of the window, left by our previous tenant (an elderly Greek man) which is so funny to me 

q. are you working on any projects right now?
a. I’m taking a break from producing, and instead enjoying playing in a band (Cloud Ice 9), travelling to Japan soon, reading more, quitting smoking (see above). I made an ASMR for my friend Chas’ art exhibition opening this weekend, and I’d love to make more dance floor-heavy tracks next :)

Four months after releasing ‘Candles / The Stairsteps to Ascension Taken Two At A Time‘, New York-based producer Sharp Veins gears up to issue his album ‘People Pleaser‘ on Nowhere Places...Our pick from the album is ‘Dub Step All Stars‘. The producer embarks on a trip through the shadowy recesses of forgotten consciousness, unraveling a space-time delirium that explores dubstep’s experimental fringes. Initially starting off with cosmic echoes that sound like the tails of high-velocity meteorites, the track quickly descends into alien frequencies, distorted bass oscillations and fractured breaks.

The 45th release of katharsis is the EP "Intrusion" by Italian artist Lefka, releasing in full on October 28th. Throughout the six tracks of the EP, Lefka swaddles the listener in a dense and distorted quilt of sound that feels both heavy and light at the same time. "Intrusion" is a release that aims to sonify the acceptance of intrusive thoughts through a kathartic and emotionally intense experience.

Through heavy use of granular synthesis and electric guitar recordings, the release varies from calm, introspective moments to peaks of intense sound pressure. Like through glass, the sounds refract and are broken into pieces, creating an aural effect of rebound and confused scattering, and like intrusive thoughts, the tracks have abrupt peaks that reset the silence with unsettling intensity.

Lefka is a multidisciplinary artist based in Amsterdam. As in a stream of consciousness, his own productions are characterized by an irreverent and disillusioned approach, which aim to detach from a precise genre-categorization.

CECILIA is an artist and composer originally from Kamouraska in rural Quebec, Canada. She develops a singular soundtrack between dark fairy tale and poetic recital, encouraging a memorial, introspective and hallucinatory listening. CECILIA released her first EP 'Charity Whore’ in 2017 under Grooming Label, followed by her debut LP 'Adoration' via Halcyon Veil in 2018 and ‘Summer in Sexilia’ later in 2021 on Xquisite Releases. On october 4th of 2024 she released ‘CHOEUR’ via milanese label Haunter Records.
Viewing sound as a deeply personal encounter experienced within the intimacy of the body, she approaches music as a visceral, emotional, sacred tool to foster experiences of communion. In her electro-acoustic compositions and stage performances, organic and synthetic textures, movements, and breaths converge, with her voice remaining the gravitational center guiding the listener through the edges of her dream-like visions and elemental romances.
After being active in Montreal, New York and Napoli, she is currently based in Paris. She has performed at various venues around the world such as YuYu Club in Mexico City (Mexico), Forest Limit in Tokyo, BNA Alter Museum in Kyoto (Japan), Gui Gallery in Beijing (China) Théâtre de la Gaîté Lyrique in Paris (France), Arsenic - Contemporary Centre for Scenic Arts in Lausanne (Switzerland), The White Hotel in Manchester (United Kingdom), the Laboral Theatre in Gijon (Spain) and MONOM, the Berlin's center for spatial sound (Germany).

The 46th release of katharsis is the EP “Plumage” by french artist Bademjan, coming out in full on November 18th. "Plumage" takes the listener on an epic voyage guided by the arcane wisdom of synthetic bird-guides, mysterious creatures leading the way through haunting and sublime realms. The EP emerges as a reflection on the pursuit of elusive truths and their role in shaping identity, and unfolds like an initiatory journey, inviting the listener to explore realms of feelings unremembered and times that never were.

From the discovery of a hidden chapel where stained glass whispers vivid secrets, to eerie calls piercing the night in a moonlit forest, each of the seven tracks reveals a new chapter in this overarching tale. Throughout the journey, the mystical birds appear briefly but meaningfully, offering both an unsettling and comforting presence as they help us navigate the shifting sands of self and accept the inevitable decay of all that we hold dear.

On “Plumage”, Bademjan unfolds his full potential by materializing his sonic development with incorporation of the electric upright bass as the backbone of the record, with its sound manipulated and processed to evoke a spectrum of emotional textures, from delicate pizzicato notes to deep sub-bass roars and gritty bow strokes. This organic foundation is enriched with woodwind-esque synths, ethereal vocal harmonies and the uncanny chirps of artificial birds, creating a sonic fable that feels both eternal and ephemeral.

Bademjan has previously put out releases with labels White Garden and Olga Productions, and contributed to compilations from Club Late Music, 90000realms and evo-natura besides figurating on the katharsis compilations “Embracing Darkness, Absorbing Light” and “Infinite Summer: Fantasi”.

Club Late Music and Morsel are happy to present a new addition to GUN-X __ a series of releases that enlarge the processes of collaboration beyond the borders of the Global URL Nation. For each project, members of the GUN community collaborate with members from another collective or label - exploring the results of cross-pollination and pooling across the global ecosystem of electronic music.

After an edition with Heel.zone in 2020 and with Hide Productions in 2023, we warmly welcome Morsel from the UK ! Morsel is a Manchester based label and arts platform inspired by literature and folklore, exaggerating the mysticism of our urban environments. Launched in 2023 only, their very just and sensitive approach convinced us instantly to extend the series with them.

For this one, Morsel wrote up a poem, which would serve as the primary source of inspiration to create a new track by musicians from both extended communities. 

It resulted in 17 tracks from Antonia XM, Bademjan, Clair X, Cralias, Dj Würm, Eurrope, excel dj, Flegma Joe, Griigg, Hajj, HR boat party, Ice_Eyes, Junior XL, Locre, Lucy Grey, Lukann, Older Brother, Pithe, Tobey, Yaka, Yauhei ASJ & Ziyiz.

“Never In My Born Days Did I See Such Night” is a collective exploration and experimentation into poetry as inspiration for composing music. The album oscillates between a sombre, dynamic landscape through a selection of heart-felt ambient tracks to bass driven club rhythms, mirroring the dark melancholic yet heavenly imagery painted in the poem. 

The album opens with angelic trance-like soundscapes decorated with glitches and robotic vocal elements that lead to a heavenly chorus of rich pads and textural field recordings. This feeling of euphoria is confronted with the latter half of the album drawing inspiration from deconstructed club music, flitting between sub basses and broken drum samples. The sludgy beats gather energy through the closing tracks through euro-dance-esque synths and electro-inspired drum patterns where they are met by the final track; an experimental collage of textures, computerised dialogues and dystopic sound bites that draw the compilation to a hypnotic close.

The release also comes with a zine of written contributions, which were inspired both by the original story, and by the tracks of the compilation, with Andres Komatsu, atrophene, Brice Reiter, Charlie O'Brien, Diana Serik, griddyeyes, Griigg, Ifuseekamy, julie nicol, Julieta Colantonio, l'autre champ d'eau, Léo Dubois, Le Spieman, Luz de Amor, Naledi Chai / Pillow Man, Older Brother, RAVEN, Solstice, & zozo.

The zine experiments with concrete poetry, broken narratives and long form writing as a response to the sonic landscape of the compilation. The collection delves into themes of longing, self discovery and hope through a textural lens reflected in the soundscapes of the album. Visual elements accompany the text facilitating melancholic narratives through depictions and arrangements of words, collage and graphics supporting the project.

For one year, all proceeds of the compilation will go towards Medical Aid for Palestinians. After that, the release will be proposed as Name Your Price, like all our other ones, and benefits will be reinvested into CLM & Morsel for upcoming projects and functioning costs.
