My Morbid Fantasy (Club Tool)

« Apparences Inadressées » is the second single of my upcoming EP !!! It’s a metareflexive dive into psychological constructions born from the surrealistic impression that my inner voice is never mine, but rather made of the voices of others through which my thoughts are told to myself in my head. Its tittle comes from the phenomenological notion of « Unaddressed Appearances » coined by naturalist Adolf Portmann to describe animal self expression that would be never received, neither from any external perceiver nor from the expresser itself.

I wish my inner voice was an animal in this way. I wish I had unaddressed thoughts…

Le goût de vos mots. 
Sourd à mes bruits que je tais, 
	(Des repoussés) 
J’entends ma gorge peuplée d’échos, 
	(Intérieurs.)
Bouger vos lèvres. 

Je mâche et rabâche des discours, 
Qui trempent le bas de ma peau (ma peau !),
Ratiocination du parcours 
De tous ces appels et appeaux (appeaux !). 

Toutes vos voix chantent ma petite voix, 
Aux apparences inadressées.

On ‘Yedora’s Music Catalog’, RougeHotel renders a world of uncanny beauty, where crackles of the divine commune with earthly grit. A world within, where blown out melodies echo through foggy moors and pads n synths are redlined to reveal the harshness at the core of the crystalline prettiness.

This album extends an antennae to the noise, with opener ‘Gruulsignet’ chasing signals in the roil and capturing divine voices in the static. The caustic swirl of ‘Yedora’ and ‘Foil’ are disrupted by glimmering, otherworldly transmissions, heartstopping melodic bursts breaking through like beams of concentrated light through a dark, gnarled wilderness. But it’s on ‘Rhystic Study’ and ‘Choral Chaos Re-Drum’ where the light is forged into form — d&b-inflected slappers that go off like they’re transcribed from ancient druidic runes. The road is long and perilous, so consider this album an amulet, a protective charm, a talisman. This is pathfinder music.
