Critical Role Theme Song

This piece is a grand, sweeping anthem born from memory, dedicated to the final journey of heroes.

We take the iconic melodies of the classic era and recast them for the cinematic age. The music begins with a solitary, Chopin-esque piano, carrying the weight of the past—a fragile memory echoing in the vast halls of a cathedral. As the melody swells, the lush symphonic strings and heroic French horns rise, representing the strength and the tragic burden of the armored figures in the silent city.

Every note is a reflection of the "weight of the vows"—the sacrifices made by the heroes and the unending duty to the world. Feel the power of the crystalline celesta with the thunderous, dramatic percussion, marking the final, epic step toward destiny. 

A journey through their struggles, their bonds and ultimately salvation from their duty- be it life... or mayhaps... even death. What does fate holds for the trio?

The Weight of the Vows [Music]

Darkly romantic, sometimes creepy, with a bit of carnival to finish it off. Hollow Fishes was a hastily completed album make on a limited budget thank to the patience and generosity of John Hartman in Sudbury, Ontario. 

It was completed in July of 1994 having been recorded in two sessions separated by  several months, but was not released until 1998. There are no high quality versions of the tracks except for a DAT tape that is now 27 years old. Only MP3's have survived.

I have consideed rerecording the album, but it seems unlikely now.

Based on "We Are Number One" produced by Máni Svavarsson for the television series "Lazytown"! Given how big Lazytown memes are right now, I hardly think I'd need to tell you that this song is based on this super catchy earworm:

The song was rendered with the aid of the original stems graciously provided by Mani Svavarsson, the composer of the song! He released the stems as part of a special live Facebook event celebrating the song "We Are Number One" becoming the meme sensation it has over the course of the last few weeks/months:

In a strangely sweet twist, the reason for Lazytown's sudden memetastic status was to raise awareness of Stefan Karl Stefansson, the actor for Robbie Rotten on Lazytown, and his battle with cancer.
