Being a parent to two teenagers can be tough, as well as rewarding. This song is written with my daughter in mind as I think about her being happy. I think a lot about the relationship I had with my own parents and hope that one day my kids will maybe think about me in the same light. My son and daughter are everything to me.

According to Herodotus, the Persian king Cambyses II sent an army of 50,000 soldiers to threaten the Oracle of Amun at the Siwa Oasis around 524 BC. The soldiers were all killed on the way by a giant sandstorm in the middle of the Western Desert of the Sahara. This tale was the inspiration for this song.
