01 Underground

Had to fight with this one. After trying different styles 5 or more times (mostly conventional hiphop) i ended up with this atmospheric experiment.All made in Ableton live with mostly samples and 3 additional synths (2 pads, bass).

Thought of putting some raps on the first two drumparts but didn't have the time to record it.
Will upload a version with raps maybe sometime.

A while ago we happened to meet a generous old man in a bar in hamburg st.pauli. We drank and talked about nearly everything and I happened to have my field recorder with me that night. 
I sampled some of his thoughts about nuclear energy and chopped them into this summerly beat. 
For comprehension, the words are: "Atom-industrie" "Millionengewinne" "Aber für wen?" "Nicht für uns!" and finally: "Endlich weg mit diese(r)" "Tödliche Gefahr" 
Recommended to be consumed with ice!

First Track I entirely produced with Maschine. Not firm with the automation yet. Was a bit tricky :)
Took the Intro of the Second Song and Some Vocal and String Samples from the other. Took a guitar out the Brenda Song and sampled it with variing Pitch. 1 ext Bass and 1 ext Drumset added. Hope you enjoy.

I've thought about this one quite a while. The buildup satisfies me by now but I am always thinking about adding some vocals to this (maybe synching or replacing the tuned bleeps that form the initial melody). 
Maybe I'll do when I come up with a suitable lyric for this.

07 Feinstaub

Just between the years I took a different kind of approach to this sample and tried to cut and resample it without a proper keyboard or hardware. The song has been build with trackpad/laptop-keyboard only. No real keyboards. No NIMaschine. All the dynamics within the snare patterns are part of the sample. No velocity cheats. ;)
