Experiences, both poignant and fleeting, recur in our lives. Music, a catalyst, allows us to relive the intricate textures of time—imprints from moments labeled trauma or bliss. These events, condensed peaks, shatter perpetual boredom and futile distractions. They embody dense material, unstoppable as the present transforms into vulnerable memory fully exposed to interpretation.
The artist endeavors to explore the essence of these events by crafting intricate sonic landscapes that convey the artists perception of time, all the while dissecting memories through the suggestive yet revealing potential of drawing.

Music for Woe And Awe by Agnes Scherer

In 2018, while preparing for the annual show at HFBK Hamburg, I accidentally discovered tonal spots on the wooden floor when something I dropped caused a resonant sound. Exploring further, I mapped these spots across the room and marked them with small stickers.

For the exhibition, I transformed the entire floor into an improvised instrument, like a large xylophone. During the performance, I responded spontaneously to the sounds and the audience, who stood on the resonating surface, becoming part of the piece. This interactive soundscape revealed the hidden musicality of everyday materials and space.
