When Maria asked me if I would want to play with her at Mensch Meier with 3000Grad & Afterhour Sounds, I was very surprised that she considered me. 
I wasnt confident at all to take my music to a club and it took her some time & a lot of nerves to finally convince me to join her. 
The road we took together was pretty... pretty rocky 😅. 
Terminology had to be discussed and compromises found until we arrived at the final result which we want to present here: A blend of our styles but a little slower than usual.

Thanks to all who came and had a fun night with us!!

Mein erster auswärts Gig liegt hinter mir und nach erstem Reflektieren bin ich super happy wie es gelaufen ist. 
Die Aufregung während dem Auflegen war bisher immer sehr anstrengend und hat mich zweifeln lassen weshalb ich dieses mal als Ziel hatte, selber Spaß beim auflegen zu haben, bzw. es zu versuchen. 
Zum Glück hat das geklappt, sonst hätte es ab jetzt nur noch Podcasts von mir gegeben :D
Ich hoffe du hast genauso viel Spaß beim nachhören wie ich beim auflegen hatte <3

Heute haben wir einen Newcomer aus der Hauptstadt zu Gast auf KataHaifisch. Tobi Jos ist quasi noch ein unbeschriebenes Blatt, weiß aber musikalisch schon recht genau, wohin die Reise gehen soll. Sein Sound ist vocallastig und spritzig. Energetische Synths und knarzige Bässe dominieren das Klangbild und schaffen eine treibende Gesamtatmosphäre. So bouncen wir doch gern ins Wochenende.

 ✔️ What are your musical Influences?
My first contact with electronical music was around 10 years ago in Berlin and after that I kinda fell in love with it. Since then my taste in music changed a lot over the years until I got into down/midtempo, which has been my favorite since then.
Especially midtempo never got boring to me probably because there wasnt a lot of music produced in that tempo and everybody was just pitching down tracks from all genres and tempos. My biggest inspiration in that style was Urem when I heard him the first time in the now closed "Bucht" club.

✔️ What do you think makes a good afterhour?
A good afterhour gets everything out of me at the end of a long night. That means it should still have a lot of energy and not be too serious. Probably I already had enough of dark music in the night and would be just going home otherwise.

 
✔️ What thoughts would you like to share with us about your mix?
With this podcast I tried to create my own interpreation of an afterhour. As I don't usually do this, it was really fun to approach it with a completely different mindset. I hope you can relate to that when you listen.

Im fernen Hochland von Fiascanien, wo die Sonne die Gräser 🌾golden färbt und der Wind Geschichten erzählt, lebte ein Lama namens Tobi Jos 🦙. Wie auch Alpakas, Guanakos und Vikunjas gehört das Lama zur Großfamilie der Kamele. Doch wie das in families gerne mal so ist, steht Argwohn und Missgunst an der obersten Tagesordnung und jede Kamelart behauptet die beste von allen zu sein. Ein Streit, der seit Generationen schwelt...⚡️

Die Lamas prahlten mit ihrer Fähigkeit, schwere Lasten 📦 zu tragen und weit zu spucken. Alpakas wiederum betonten ihre flauschiges Fell, die Guanakos pochten auf ihre uralte Abstammung und Vikunjas betrachteten sich mit ihrem edlen Auftreten sowieso als Top Notch 🥇. 

Eines Tages, als die Spannungen besonders hoch waren, erklomm das Lama einen Felsen und begann, Klänge zu erzeugen: Tiefe, dunkle Basslines 🔊, die wie das Donnern eines nahenden Gewitters klangen, begleitet von verspielten Melodien und kitschigen Breaks. Ein Hauch von Psy schwebte in der Luft, wie der Duft von frisch geschnittenem Gras nach einem Sommerregen 🌦️. Mit jedem Beat, der genau 115 mal in der Minute durch die Täler hallte, lockte er die verschiedenen Kamelarten aus ihren Lagern.

Die stolzen Vikunjas begannen zu galoppieren, die Alpakas schüttelten ihr prachtvolles Fell im Takt 🎶, und die Guanakos nickten anerkennend – ihre Ahnen hätten diesen Sound geliebt. Zusammen naschten sie vom Colastrauch und feierten bis zum übernächsten Morgengrauen 🌄.

„Musik, meine Freund*innen,“ sagte Jos, „ist der Knoten, der uns verbindet.“ 🪢 Seitdem leben die Kamelarten im Einklang und sämtliche Rivalität ist nurnoch ein Relikt der fernen Vergangenheit.

There were a lot of firsts for me this Saturday:
- my first time playing in Bahnwärter Thiel 🤩
- my first time playing for almost 5 hours… what a marathon 🥵
- and my first spontaneous extra long closing b2b with @nuah-music 🥰

I'm looking back super happy and fulfilled, it couldn’t have gone better!
Even a broken CDJ after 3 hours couldn’t stop me 💪.
A year ago, not only the CDJ but I myself would’ve had a meltdown here…

Thanks to Afterhour Sounds and everyone who was there and supported me - it meant a lot to me!! <3
