Somewhere Press is a Glasgow-based record label that embodies the emotive, narrative-led spaces in sound work, uplifting outsider voices and queering notions of experimental music and print. 

This mix explores the discrepant sounds of dream states.
Ethereal choral vocals are entangled with distorted and disturbed voices and a drifting psychedelic ambience is broken apart by rumbling atmospheres of industrial.
As layers break apart, raw and resonant drones float beneath the surface; an opiated, eternal delirium.

Yssue takes up the reigns on the next Phase Group Mix.   

A dear friend of the label and a talented producer and DJ, Dima is part of the Esthetic Joys collective that were behind some of the most compelling underground parties in Moscow. Now a resident in Paris after some time living in Armenia, Yssue continues to create his own brand of evocative left field electronic music, the likes of which has been released to great effect on labels such as Paris' Global Warming Records, Belgrade’s YES, Lyon’s Kump and Edinburgh label Sounds of Ogigia.   

His mix for us is a heads-down psychic journey across genres from haunting spoken word through dubbed out post punk, brooding hip hop  and psychedelic downtempo electronics,  all the while with multilingual voices echoing to us from beyond.

Phase Group Mix - Yssue

This mix from Glasgow's mainstay, Mag, was recorded at the end of 2020 and there really isn't any good reason for it not seeing the light of day earlier than this. It somehow survived multiple hard drive deaths and wandered in the cloud for way too long before resurfacing recently and finally ending it's journey as the Forecast it was always supposed to be. 

Hailing from London, adopted by Puddle Country and currently galivanting around South America, Mag has pieced together over an hour's worth of sonics that have stood the test of time, a demand unfairly put upon them by the scatter-brained "organisational" capacity of one member of 12th Isle in particular. Said member and Mag have done a number of shows together on Clyde Built throughout the years and are worth checking out, if just to appreciate the unassailable power of friendship in the face of attention deficit issues.

While being influenced by ambient and dub traditions, his solo project exists on the margins of those genres — the result is multifaceted, polyrhythmic music that was released via the Japanese City-2 St. Giga and How To Dress Well’s new label Helpful Music. Operating out of Berlin and Milano, he is currently recording a new album.
