They say birds of a feather stick together, and it looks like a few Get Physical birds have flown South for the last bit of winter. To be more specific, it's Get Physical’s turn to take on Miami once again.

And, true to form, a compilation spanning 18 tracks from friends new and old means we've left no sun-bleached stone unturned. We're talking palm trees, tiny cocktail umbrellas and a hot, sticky helping of techy house, sexy vocals and shore-worthy buildups from the likes of label mainstays DJ Pierre, Ryan Murgatroyd, Tom Budden, Emanuel Satie, Julia Govor and Hector Couto -who's strung the whole compilation together for your continuous listening pleasure. Also featured are fresh faces like Eagles & Butterflies, Mobius Strum and System of Survival, whose numerous contributions to the release make for some very welcome organic percussion and laid-back vibes of their own. Also featured is Tom Peters, who returns to Get Physical after appearing on our last Full Body Workout to team up with a certain Honey Dijon for the Miami bonanza. All with the Get Physical stamp of approval, of course.

Highrade Show - Todd Bodine

English: Successful label boss, multi faceted producer and stylistically secure DJ: The wide ranging musical accomplishments of Todd Bodine show his vast experience as one of the major players in the electronic music scene. Born in Berlin, Todd has always found ways to insert new life and character into his musical universe, as his current collaboration with Ilario Alicante illustrates.  

Todd Bodine belongs among a select group of musical pioneers: In Germany’s capital of electronic music, he earned his stripes as a long time resident at Tresor club in a time that was characterized by the almost euphoric mood immediately after the fall of the Berlin Wall. He quickly became well known for his action packed and thrilling DJ sets, with his skills on the decks propelling him onto dance floors and festivals all around the world. Due to this ability he has collected an impressive list of club references, including "Studio 80" (Amsterdam), "Yellow" (Tokyo), "Fabric" and "The EGG" (London), "Sonar" (Barcelona), the "Culture Box" (Copenhagen). Of course, Todd Bodine has also stayed true to his roots and has performed regularly and often in Berlin’s best clubbing hot spots: "Kater Holzig", "Stattbad", "Watergate" and "Panorama Bar". 

Todd is also responsible for the artistic and conceptual management of the popular Highgrade label parties. The Berlin record label has become inextricably linked with the life and creative mind of the artist at it’s helm. As one of the label bosses, Todd Bodine takes care of A&R, label management and art direction of the releases, which can be clearly seen in the various cover imagery of the records. Also for the label, Todd is an integral founding member of the extremely successful "Highgrade Disharmonic Orchestra" project alongside Tom Clark, Daniel Dreier and Philip Bader. Part of his role is making sure that every live show is a unique on-stage experience where all of the artists can express their own individual sound signatures. 

As the orchestra conductor Todd Bodine carries an unmistakable musical flair that has been evident since his first electronic productions. The beginning of his career as a producer was the Berlin label, Cabinet Records, followed by releases with Highgrade, Swiss label Morris Audio, Tresor (naturally), Treibstoff and Mothership. Todd has released numerous EP's on a wide range of German and international labels, and has already produced three studio albums: "Different Engines" (2005, Morris Audio), "Surfaces" (2006, Tresor) and "Forms" (2009, Highgrade Records).

Right up to this day, Todd Bodine maintains his very own production style that oscillates between house and techno, without ever being strictly bound to either genre. Through the unique and recognizable character of his unconventional and often surprising productions it has become clear: Todd Bodine's musical voice is simply unmistakable.

Regelmäßig fügt der gebürtige Berliner seinem Klang-Kosmos dabei neue Facetten hinzu – wie etwa seine aktuelle Zusammenarbeit mit Ilario Alicante beweist. 

Dabei gehört Todd Bodine zu den Pionieren der ersten Stunde: In Deutschlands elektronischer Musik-Hauptstadt verdiente er sich seine Anfangslorbeeren als langjähriger Tresor-Resident, geprägt von der Aufbruchsstimmung der Nach-Wende-Zeit. Doch natürlich bleibt Todd Bodine auch seinen Wurzeln treu. So legt er regelmäßig in den Berliner Clubgrößen "Kater Holzig", "Stattbad", "Watergate" und "Panorama Bar" auf.

Hier finden auch die populären "Highgrade"-Labelnights statt, für deren künstlerische Leitung und Konzeption Todd Bodine verantwortlich ist. Überhaupt sind das Berliner Plattenlabel und der umtriebige Künstler mittlerweile untrennbar miteinander verwoben. Als einer der Chefs von "Highgrade" verantwortet Todd Bodine die Bereiche A&R, das Label Management und die Art Direction der Produktionen, was sich in den außergewöhnlichen Covern der Releases zeigt. Für das Label hat er auch das außerordentlich erfolgreiche "Highgrade Disharmonic Orchestra" ins Leben gerufen. Gemeinsam mit Tom Clark, Daniel Dreier und Philip Bader stellt er so jedes Mal einen einmaligen Live-Act auf die Bühne, bei der jeder der beteiligten Artists seine ganz eigene Handschrift einbringt.

Als Orchesterdirigent kommt auch Todd Bodines untrügliches musikalisches Gespür zum Tragen, das er seit seiner Anfangszeit als Produzent unter Beweis stellt. Seinen Beginn nahm dieser Teil seiner Karriere bei dem Berliner Label Cabinet Records, gefolgt von Releases bei Highgrade, dem Schweizer Label Morris Audio, natürlich Tresor Records, sowie Treibstoff und Mothership. Bis heute pflegt Todd Bodine dabei seinen ganz eigenen Produzentenstil, der zwischen House und Techno changiert, ohne sich festlegen wollen oder zu müssen. Der Wiedererkennungswert seiner eigenwilligen und regelmäßig überraschenden Produktionen ist ihm dabei sicher – Todd Bodines musikalische Stimme ist einfach unverkennbar.
