Like most people our age, we grew up playing videogames. The countless hours glued to the TV playing our favorite games inspired us to put together a short tribute to these fantastic devices. Which ever side you were on, nobody can deny the amazing games offered on both platforms. There is incredible value in what these composers did with the limited hardware and this is our way of showing appreciation.

We updated their sounds a little bit and in a way, prove that good songs transcend genres.

"After delivering his Fly Exam album last year, JGivens continues his momentum with a “maxi-single” in the form of “Make It” featuring Christon Gray and production from Goodman21 as well as “Lotto,” which finds guest vocals from Cousin Neighbor, and Erik Kingsley and Anthony Cruz combining forces on the boards.

Givens shares his signature lyrical wordplay on the two tracks as he attempts to carve out his own lane in the independent scene. He was inspired by the challenge in Kendrick Lamar’s “The Heart Part 4” that put the game on high alert for April 7, which is when Givens dropped the songs.

“I had been sitting on these two records. I’ve always wanted to release a maxi-single, and both collaborations were long overdue for some very patient fans,” he shares in a statement to HipHopDX. “Plus, this was my humble response to my favorite number, IV. K-Dot warned all of us that we had until April 7 to ‘Get our sh*t together,’ MCs. Keep working. So here you go, God bless.”

I'm really into the chiptune stuff at the moment, so making a fair bit of it whilst I seem to be having so much fun writing it.

This one is actually more of a full track than the last thing I did, it mixes classic authentic NES chip sounds more modern drums and bass sounds. Hope you like!

This is one of the tracks that didn't make it to the Machine Album due soon. I was thinking of putting together a Lost Floppies Volume 2 with a mix of old unreleased chiptunes and the chippy machine leftovers. I guess it would sound something like this track. Also, this track got a fair amount of inspiration from Zabutoms Zeta Force, and I also used some of his drum-samples from an old FT2 track.
