Modulo, Haider Uppal - Violet Woods (Soela Remix)

Hailing from London, Upon You's 2nd time signing for Hypoxia LDN steps up with his anticipated debut three-tracker, "Into The River". Operating the grey zone between no-nonsense jacking house motifs and subaquatic atmospheres wrapped in thick, reverb-drenched membranes, the British producer steers us amidst a sonic universe both hi-tech and organically suave, meditative and undeniably functional.

So works the opener "Gream", a proper hypnotic slab of clinical programming and bass-heavy charge slowly moving onto broader, further thunderous minimalism as it finishes us off to a feast of raucous dub echoes and heavily processed machine bombast. Then comes the hi-NRG shuffle of "The Not Fine Art Of Repetition", Hypoxia's subtle touch making wonders in carving out that infectiously jagged groove out seemingly prototypical tech-house textures and, again, that ominous bass relief, while vocals beckon us onto unmistakably UK garage territories.

Last but far from least, title-track "Into The River" injects a heathy dose of jazz and boogie intricacies into the equation, trading the relative austerity of the previous for a funkier, disco-infused approach. The result is a soulful chugger that lacks neither peak time party oomph nor that jiggy swagger and wholeheartedness, making it both a perfect number for transitional sequences both on and off the dance floor, when the mind and body seem to float in a distinct haze and recombine under the friendly yoke of the almighty groove.

There are two main themes in the mix. Duality and contrast. We tend to speak about the world like we are not part of it. We speak to ourselves like we are divided. We think about the nature and forget we are a part of it ... and so on. We hear about the things that are happening around the world but we look the other way. We have everything but we are forever unsatisfied. We have been fed with the Western values but have forgotten about the simple things. If it doesn’t shine according to the rules that you have been taught, it must be no good. 

In the end - we pay for the optimism, not the truth.

The mix is presented in the series of edits with additional soundscapes, vocals and ambience. Inside you can find few upcoming tracks that will be released on Soundhitectures in the near future and one of my remixes that is coming out under a Russian label called SLOWDANCE.

The video explores the visualization of these thoughts and tries to capture the contrasts we are experiencing everyday. It is made from Youtube clips from two video channels which interact and represent the contrast. It's not meant to be watched in full, but it is synched with music."

Its the resurgence of Indian disco, funk & cabaret from the 70s , 80s & 90s. Deep in India Vol.1 goes back to its homegrown roots and gives us three classic gems. Each edit retaining its original flavor & a little something more to take to the dance floor.Todh Teri polishes off each track with a signature groove if its own. Ten seconds into an edit and you are deep in India! In the past, Todh Teri has brought this style of music to Berlin’s clubs like Rummelsbucht & Wilde Renate. The act is scheduled to showcase in July at Sispyhos, Berlin & set for a very special LIVE debut at Wilde Renate, this August. In an Interview with Todh Teri, Red Bull said - Indian artists have been loath to touch anything Bollywood and understandably so… Step in Todh Teri who wants to connect the lost world of Indian disco with western club sounds. Teri understands that most Indian artists are (or were) not sure [about edits], because without proper execution, they can be easily clubbed as [mainstream] Bollywood remixes.

Pachanga Boys Present: We Are Really Sorry
A Roadtrip from Cologne to Cheesetown, Boottown, Coffeetown and back again. 

Narrated by the truly fantastic Dessagne Twins from Saint-Etienne. After a couple of humble appearances on Kompakt Total compilations and the first trilogy on their own label Hippie Dance which was made out of marimbas, rhymes, time and a mysterious girl named Christine, Pachanga Boys look back in their own history to present their first full-lenght album, an exhaustive recollection of their adventures on and off the road while finding their way to true Pachanga enlightenment... But first, they want you to know that they’re really sorry. A psychedelic Western Disco Audio Book was quite clearly the obvious format choice for a tale this colourful, this entrancing, this irresistable, and that’s what the Boys – knowing what they know – wanted the experience to be.

Formed by Superpitcher and Rebolledo, this tag team is famous for bending time and space, with the boys balancing exotic spices with hearty flavours, enticing any old mood rebel to take a big bite of happiness.

Feeling inspired by old country and folk records, they also opted for a narration to link the album tracks, performed by the truly fantastic Dessagne Twins from Saint Etienne. Together with the masterfully staged music, those two give you first-hand impressions of the Pachanga Boys’ everyday life spent between Cologne and La Pitaya from 2009 to 2012, a life consisting of big city nights and mountain weekends, strange markets, dubious cantinas and powerful rivers, riding bikes and driving around in German cars. Old machines, a wide range of percussions, vocals and field recordings form the sound palette of this simple story true to the Hippie Dance ethos: freedom before anything and everything goes.

 Once upon a time, on a sunny day in the beautiful country of Mexico, we found ourselves on the backseat of the Pachanga Mobile... Cruising around the moutains around Xalapa, taking a ride to Boottown, having a snack at Cheesetown and taking a sip at Coffeetown... Aksel put his sunglasses on, Rebolledo turned his superfancy car soundsystem on... After that we can't remember anything... Just a trippy hypnotic outerspace experience throughout hippie claps and dance vibes. We came out of the car not knowing our names anymore and thinking "are these guys humans ?"... The Pachanga Boys said : "We are really sorry". But we said "Thanks... for everything".

If I met a stranger from another planet right now and he would ask me "what is the most exciting and mind-blowing music on earth?", I would tell him "listen to this : Pachanga Boys, We are really sorry, made in the year twenty twelve".
