Following her maiden contribution to our 300th milestone VA issued a couple of months ago, Berlin-based SKALA clocks in on Stil vor Talent with her debut solo effort, "Liquid Gold". A three-track alchemy of sultry atmospherics, shamanic brainwaves and further spaced-out, big-room-focused momentums, this EP resounds as a statement of style from a burgeoning artist in the process of establishing her non-pareil voice in our scene.

Breaking the EP in, the mystique-friendly title-track "Liquid Gold" taps in a seam of slo-burning, folk-informed house and laces it with future-ready engineerings. Imagine stepping in a smoke-shrouded den where your body and soul make one with that of the crowd's, glowing silhouettes stretching their odd contours out convulsive tides of stroboscopic lights and steamy emanations from the jam-packed engine room.

The second cut doesn't drift much farther from that sensually dark, night-loving ambience made hers by SKALA. Out of a similar palette of ominous machine spurts and hip-swaying, metronomic swagger, the vibes pour in to incendiary effect. "Ivory" rounds it off on an even wilder, more menacingly ambivalent note, doing the splits between a brittle, melancholy-infused melody and a trampling groove, tailored to march over the club with maximal tonnage.

It's Good To Be A Tree is a deep and atmospheric record label run by Sergey Pushkin, which focuses on downtempo/organic house with indigenous sounds, flowing percussion and heart-warming melodies.

The label's focus is to create a collaborative environment where artists from different genres can come together on one platform and this latest release is an eight-track compilation featuring solo music by Daniel Hokum, Kuumba, Last Gentleman On Playa, Valique, Yassen, Zoe Reijue and Sergey Pushkin. There is also a three-way collaboration between Betelgeize, Beznosuk and Valique.

Sergey Pushkin’s “Fading Away (feat. Unibird)” has a sensual vocal by Unibird which is nestled on a bed of liquid textures and ripening synths, all while the funk of the bassline carries the groove.

The eight edition collects organic tracks by artists that are from different parts of the world in a celebration of diversity and different cultures. Featuring music from Sol Selectas regulars such as Safar (FR), Hot Oasis, Sabo, Raidho and Guy Maayan, it also features music from numerous artists making their record label debut.

Although organic house is the genre the release orientates around, like the earth orbiting the sun, the release is filled with diversity, and includes genres ranging from Afro house to downtempo.

Fans of Sol Selectas know exactly what to expect from this highly revered compilation which gathers existing members of the record label's family and introduces them to the next generation of talent, as this release is often the gateway to future releases on Sabo's influential imprint.

Collectively, the artists who feature on this release have dropped individual tracks and remixes on other respected labels such as MoBlack Records, Pipe & Pochet, Sounds of Khemit, Bar 25 Music, 3000 Grad, Cafe De Anatolia and Akbal Music.

The release features music from countries such as Tunisia, Israel, Morocco, Poland, America and Iran. The artwork by Helia Jamali portrays the moment that we catch the light and the energetic rays of the sun activate our spirit through a divine connection.

Curated by label head Damian Lazarus, Rebellion’s excellent SOULS series has always transcended sounds and scenes to dig deep into the most forward-thinking new electronic niches. It has a deeply embedded spiritual theme, like most projects with which Lazarus is associated, and this volume again connects the dots between a number of innovative producers from across the globe.
Belgrade and Mykonos-based duo MĪMĪ x FY open up with ‘Robotic Mode’, linking with Estray for a silky synth- laced house cut that goes deep into a cosmic future. The deft chords, spoken words and sci-fi signifiers enrich the groove perfectly. Brazil's Vini Pistori is next with ‘Hypnotized’, a scintillating fusion of pixelated melodies and bright, starry-eyed chords over a drawn-out and languid groove that is perfect for the late-night hours.
Frequent collaborators MILI and Hoomance then step up with ‘Casa Mama’, a playful cut with a carnival feel thanks to the characterful horns which bounce about over the crisp drums. It's a track full of soul and sunshine that captures the joy of dancing outdoors. Johannes and Phillipp have enjoyed releases on Kittball, Heinz & Ritter Butzke Records as they began their adventure in 2016. Their passion for music also developed during a professional violin or piano studies programme at the college.
With a heavy emphasis on incorporating and drawing inspiration from the classical world their 2 tracks deliver driving melodies with a vocal touch.

On remix duties they welcome Raphael Mader & EMPHI.
Raphael's career is flourishing this moment as he awaits his 2nd EP to be released on Renaissance Records / Young Swedish talent EMPHI provides a more progressive edit to 'Illusion' as Johan has set the bar high after receiving support from fellow producers Black Coffee, Khen, Yotto, Cristoph & Armen Miran on previous releases.

Lindahl, is a Swedish-Irish producer, born in Spain, Lindahl encompasses a melting pot of cultures, infused into one artist. Currently based in Berlin and working from Riverside Studios - He has been hard at work with vocalist KOKA on her solo project whilst creating the beautiful lead track Audara with lyrics infused in English & Albanian. We have the Premiere of a special remix to come from UNDERHER. A force in the scene & now among one of the most successful Tunisian and Canadian electronic acts over the the last couple of years, Having released with artist such as Moby, Books Shade, U2, Maya Jane Coles and many others he has created a much deeper, more hypnotic feel to Audara.
