film. are a Japanese  post-rock band which formed in Kanazawa in 2002. 
An audience said "Somehow I felt as if I saw a never-ending landscape being surrounded by the destructive sounds like an overwhelming gravity"

The long-awaited 1st album released by film well-known as a pioneer of the alternative rock music scene in the Northlands region, Japan.
The songs gently start with a guitar arpeggio and a guitar delay. The rich layers are built up by a bass guitar and drums. A film of sounds is composed by the filmmakers. You will see a calm scene but it does not last long. A scream of the distortion guitar rending the stillness of the night leads you to the next scene. It's totally a chaos but you must find a ray of hope at the very end of the film....
Strongly recommend this album to fans of Sigur Rós, Mogwai and Godspeed You! Black Emperor.
If you love Slint, Codeine and Low so-called sadcore and slowcore, you love this one too.
On the other hand, it can be recommended to enthusiasts for contemporary classical music, minimal music like Arvo Pärt, Henryk Górecki and John Tavener.

smoug is an instrumental post rock band from both Toyama and Tokyo, Japan. They released their debut album "Cloud Sprout" on Tokyo's Preco Records in 2013. The recording lays bare the influence of post rock bands from the early 2000s, such as Hood, epic45, Mercury Program, Howard Hello,and The Album Leaf with slow building melodies setting up a dreamy, sentimental atmosphere.

"Do Not Disturb" is the follow on remix album featuring artists from right across the spectrum of Japan's electronic music scene, featuring remixes from aus (flau), Ametsub (nothings66), mergrim (moph) and Cuushe (flau). They reinterpreted the tracks with a dancier vibe, adding their own unique twists to give something fresh to smoug's sound.

The album also features one previously unreleased track "Hail To You" an dtwo alternate takes on album tracks "The Long Morning Counterclockwise" and "Chip". This remix album is for fans of post rock, electronica & dance music.

"Do Not Disturb" will be released on LP (with free CD version of the album) on Tokei Records, December 2014.

Sabusave is an ambient musician and sound installation artist from the Toyama Prefecture in Japan. Sometimes known as “background music” Sabusave transcends the functional beauty of that style and urges us to lose ourselves in the solitary, stoic, complex patterns of the chords. His sounds repeat and overlap and disappear into a haze of deep mesmerizing sound, only to gently evolve and reappear again. In Toyama, Subusave started the project SAVE (Sound. Audio. Visual. Electric) in 2013. Sabusave’s performs his live music in public areas where many people visit, such as cafes, art exhibitions, yoga classes and on the street - He creates a unique and calming atmosphere for people finding themselves in the locations. He pays close attention to the environment, space, people, and mood of the situations and controls the sounds of the music in real time, performing live without the use of any backtracks or overdubs. It has quickly become popular, not only at music events but in many other settings.

Formed in 2012, Oavette is a 4 person band from Aichi Prefecture, Japan.

Oavette consists of two electric guitars, electric bass and drums. They have a simple yet repetitive composition woven into their sound. An overwhelming immersive feeling is produced by a polyrhythm which spreads over the course of their songs. Percussive guitar is intertwined with complicated drum beats, while the baseline stoically builds to the very end of their songs.

Oavette’s songs evolve steadily, flowing through the moving scenery while gradually changing in emotion. Their music can best be described as atmospheric yet primitive, minimal yet intelligent.

film., the four person instrumental band from Kanazawa, Japan, released a new EP for the first time in four years. The band formed in 2002, and released their first full album in 2015. The instrumental noise ensemble is made up of two guitarists, a drummer and a bassist. Their sound is often described as both calming and heavy just like the winter skies of Hokuriku, which is the region of Japan where the band is from. Influenced by music groups like Mogwai and Mono, there is a post-rock, cinematic feel to film’s music. The music shifts seamlessly from dramatic and intense sound dynamics to quiet, beautiful, sparse instrumental melodies. This album will appeal to fans who enjoy the sounds of slowcore, sadcore, ambient and minimal post-rock music.

YAMAMO, is an indie rock band from Kanazawa. Their music is widely loved by all ages, from young children to adults. The main melodies of their songs are led by a traditional yet playful mandolin and include the whimsical sounds of various other instruments like trumpets, keyboards, xylophones and other percussive instruments. The songs are lively and nostalgic, but also have layers of intricate, precise and brilliant musicality.
