Further experiments in Moombahton after my first track in the genre, "It Has No Purpose".

Moombahton is definitely one of the most bizarre genres of EDM around, but its definitely a fun one to write. I like. I see myself doing a lot more of it in the future. Only thing that worries me about it is that a lot of Moombahton songs can sound similar, so I'll definitely be experimenting with different methods of keeping a track Moombahton-like, but switching it up so all the songs don't just start blending together. The drop with the heavier bass synth near the end of this track was one of those attempts.

I Am 12 Years Old And What Is This

My sister has gotten me into Homestuck and it has inspired me to write terrible music and name the songs after the characters.

Gonna try to produce a track based off of each of the four kids (I haven't been truly introduced to the trolls yet - not far enough into the comic). This is John's. I thought a goofy tone fit him well, and a shitty-sounding reference to his haunting piano refrain seemed applicable here.

John Egbert

Here's the second of the songs based off the Homestuck kids. However, this track is in absolutely no way relatable to Rose. Not one bit. At all. Pretend it's named something else. Like "Hoobla." That's a far sillier name. And probably more fitting.

Rose LaLonde

Here's Gamzee. Not Jade. Working on her's. I promise.

Anyway. Decided on some slower-paced (Till the end) Flux Pavillion-styled dubstep for Gam'. Quick, speedy stuff just doesn't fit him. I would have gone for more traditional dubstep, instead of Flux's weird melodic deal, but frankly, I'm terrible at it. I'm terrible at this, too.

Thing song sucks and you shouldn't listen to it ever.

Had some fun with this one. I'm in love with dblueGlitch. Such a fun little tool to play around with. And I had sworn off Nexus forever, but I went browsing through it just to see what I could find for that lead, and the one I used just fit perfectly for what I was hearing in my head. No more Nexus though. 'Cause I ultimately don't like it very much. Rambling now. 

Anyway. After about a month of work, the four kids are now done. Now to start on the trolls! :D Oh God.

Here's Tavros' song. First (sort of) of the trolls done. Gamzee's last one doesn't count because it's a piece of shit and I want to do something that reflects his stoner-ness as well as his psycho moments.

My first entry for the Homestuck music competition. A contest to see what music will be on the next fan album. Idea is to write up to 3 songs based off a character (Or characters) from the comic, and then submit them. Easy, right?

Well, if you're not an inexperienced twit like me. But, ya know.

This is one of 3 entries, as I said. I've never ever written something orchestral before, so this was a lot of fun, and it turned out a lot better (in my opinion) than I thought it would. The trained ear would probably notice many catastrophic failures in it, but what do they know? Damn professionals. /naive 

Batterwitch

My 2nd entry for the Homestuck Music Contest. Think of it as a soundtrack to the Sufferer's execution. From being led to the... uh... whatever you'd call the slab thing they chained him to, to his expletive, to death. 

I wrote this while coming out of a huge creative block, so I hope it was worth the effort it took to force this out of my head. I'm actually pretty happy with it, given the circumstances. I hope you are, too.

The Vast Expletive

My final entry for the Homestuck Music Contest. I've wanted to get back into writing dance music for awhile (Went on this spree of writing orchestral stuff), and I thought doing a song about Doc Scratch with some electro-glitch-shit would be perfect.
