We first inhabited Felix’s lo-fi house aesthetic on the track ‘Fantasies’ from the inaugural ‘высокий спрос’ compilation [CLIPP143] back in the deep deep Covid quagmire of 2020. “высокий спрос. vol 1” showcased underground artists & producers residing in Eastern Europe and the Russian Federation blurring out the boundaries between Eastern and Western European dance music and obviously we loved Felix’s track to invite him back for more. He followed up with “Dreaming of You” - a gliding dreamlike-but-bumping house cut with the added vibe of Felix’s own introspective vocal styling. On his third outing “Kingdom of The Past”, Felix takes those prior concepts and turns them up several vibes. I dare you not to fall in love with the addition of a pondering guitar riff. It welcomes you to a place where you can forget that “145BPM” is a thing (even if just for a moment). You know that an avalanche of Tik Tok Techno is ready to obliterate you entirely, collapsing on you in the next Boiler Room or HOR video, but for this moment allow yourself to slide into Felix’s safe space. It may sounds passé but I do think it might also be The Future. Chill and bump the groove. It’s nice to visit the Kingdom of The Past.
