Closing out the series is a recording from Norwegian DJ/producer Helene Rickhard. A pre-Covid regular at Oslo’s Jaeger, Helene has now moved out of the city to a house on the coast, where she produces music with her cat, Enya :) Helene delivered us this mix last summer and it remains one of the standout mixes we’ve heard since that time, becoming a lockdown staple for us and the perfect high for us to end Tokyo Fantasy on. R. Kitt, along with Enda and Cáit, runs Dip, a party focused solely on home grown Irish talent. The party takes place in Jigsaw, a community centre in North Dublin, which is the home of Dublin Digital Radio and boasts one of the most loved dancefloors in Ireland. This is a 4 hour marathon recording of R. Kitt live from the last Dip party. She burns pure.  

Make sure to keep your eye on this lad, who has big things in the pipeline next year. His productions, live sets and DJ sets are sublime.

Fantasy Mix 010: R. Kitt

We've taken a minute to get together mixes for 2019 but we're glad we took our time, there's some incredible music en route and kicking things off are the incredibly talented London duo Heels & Souls. 

Everything these guys stand for resonates with us in a big way. They're renowned for their intimate parties showcasing world class talent and music in unusual venues, the icing on the cake...this is all not-for-profit and their parties + activities, in 2018 alone, raised over £6,500 for the charity Key Changes, a huge achievement. This mix comes from their recent Pickle Factory show with Mark Seven & DJ Slyngshot and demonstrates the diversity of the duo's ability, gliding from sultry hip hop through to proto house with an incredible journey in between.

Confirmed to play Kala Festival alongside a Tate Modern collaboration already this year, you can next catch the guys playing at one of their parties on the 15th February at Tottenham institution Five Miles -https://www.residentadvisor.net/events/1208259

Fantasy Mix 016: Lárus All Night Long Italo Megamix @ Number 90

This month we’ve got party starters Tokyo Fantasy taking the lead in our mix series. Cam and “Nervous” Fergus are the self-proclaimed music dork duo from London, whose diverse parties have hosted highly respected names like Tornado Wallace, Secretsundaze, Jamie Tiller, and previous guest mix contributor, Carista.

Whilst they have outgrown their reputation as “perpetual warm up DJ’s”, Cam and Fergus do know how to de-ice a crowd like no other. This is exactly what you’ll hear in this 1 hour 45 mins long mix, developing gradually from smooth-as-Sade tracks, to dubby instrumentals, into boogie, slow Italo, African voodoo, finishing off with some grade A disco. Absolute diggers delight, without any of the pretentiousness. As they say, break out the lambrini and enjoy.

These guys have been throwing some great intimate parties over the last few years and between the four residents are pushing things wider this summer with some exciting shows coming up.

Fantasy Mix 022: ONO

Time for something a little bit different from us Balearicy/housey/cosmicy cowards. 2 hours of heavy flexing from Unbound host, DJ Winggold. We met Charles Olisanekwu via The Cause, when we were running separate parties on the same day – his with a little extra pump than ours, as you will tell from this mix. Rather than getting territorial, he did everything in his power to help us push our event and our future events with no expectation that we do the same for him. That same selflessness is reflected in his parties, which use music as a way to spread awareness about social issues like mental health and inequality. His openness, ambition and charisma have made him the focus of a DJ Mag article, seen titans like Bruce, Skee Mask and Afrodeutsche grace his parties, and even taken him all the way to play at Griessmuehle in Berlin. All this for someone who has only been DJing for two years…We think we better listen and learn. Thank you, DJ Winggold.
