The room was crowded with onlookers who had come to witness what had been described as a beautiful miracle. What could be the harm in that? For it was always a wonder to see somebody healed from hurt - to see somebody rise upwards and face the demons which had been recklessly punishing them for, oh, so very long.

An organ played softly in the background as the pastor began to mutter a magnificent spell from the stage. There were gasps and exclaims as the lights flickered and danced on and off whilst the sound began to echo and refrain between the walls of this old building. There was an eerie, ethereal presence which hung thick in the air as the small, crippled woman rose from her seat on the bench.

This was it, the moment they had all been waiting for, as she began to stand.

Hardmatter are back with more delicately crafted, elegant deep house - this time featuring two producers of determined skill and prowess when it comes to working the dancefloor. Javonntte and Malik Alston feature on this new split EP - the latter of which delivers this track called 'Stand' and guides us towards the dark and murky rooms.

Tol10 - We Have A Problem

Psssh is the new label formed by Dauwd Al Hilali and Dave Redmond,
born from a collection of demos the pair felt deserved their own home. The inaugural release is the first in a trilogy from Dauwd himself, signalling a departure from the sound that first brought him notoriety.

The project is eclectic, pursuing less contrived grooves, from impactful dancefloor works to an ambient playfulness.

The EP kicks off with ‘Jean Rouch’, a techno jam littered with driving percussion, and the eventual emergence of a properly satisfying bassline. ‘Idris’ is equally intriguing, an ever-flowing and meticulously layered groove that doesn't quit. 'Really Good’ concludes the record, impressing further a spirited and melodic slice of deep house.

Dauwd’s work is new and fresh, but with references to old that hold their own.

To serve his sonorous ideas the ferocious, and retro tribal art direction of artist Mauro Ventura delivers the perfect cinematic vision of Dauwd’s EP.

Coymix Ltd., a new Estonian/Finnish label from Steffan Todorović (one of the minds behind Gestalt records) and Timo Rotonen (founder at Echocentric Records) has launched its maiden journey with a release from South African producer Terrence Pearce, aka Biodive. Here he rolls out a complex but direct 4-track journey of synth-buoyant and euphoric blissful mania.

Most of these tracks were originally planned for release on Gestalt Records, but after a bit of self-deliberation, Steffan figured it’d be best to start a brand new label to house the project. Having already been close with Timo, the two often helping each other with their respective labels, Steffan passed him the tracks and the two decided it’d be a good idea to launch Coymix Ltd. together. It’s no secret that the type of cosmic, pumping deep house that Biodive has delivered is trending right now, and for good reason. The music is of superb quality and emotion, and you’d be missing out not to grab this for the bag (or stick) before it sells out.

Plane of the Ecliptic leads the release with its big festival stage sound, first capturing attention with beautiful melancholic chords before introducing a pulsing subaqueous bassline that slinks over an otherwise calming ambient soundscape. The energy is serene but powerful, and I can already imagine massive crowds collectively losing their minds to this at the grand summer festival stages. The tune is never too busy, and Biodive does a great job building tension and releasing energy in an arrangement that really works to guide the listener through different states of feeling.After more than a year in the works, the project is set to release on both vinyl and digital formats on July 1, 2020. Support the label and grab the excellent debut project.
