Note for promoters: I have purposefully put together just a 30 minute mix as I appreciate we all have very busy schedules.  It’s not easy getting your message across in such a short mix but it was enough time however to have a gradual increase in energy.  In terms of classic drum and bass I can be very versatile.  This particular mix is just a showcase of some of my personal favourites.  I’m also more than happy to do this as a vinyl mix if need be.  This was recorded on a Pioneer DDJ-FLX4.

Tollgate Shindigs / Classic D&B mix: Volume One

Founder of BrainRave Music and Label Manager at Renegade Hardware, Tollgate Shindigs first found his love for 'dance' music whilst he was still attending school in the early 90's.  His older brother would buy all the old Eclipse, Amnesia House, Perception, Fibreoptics, Quest tape packs which became the soundtrack to his early teens.   The years that followed saw him obsess with the somewhat natural progression of Jungle, Happy Hardcore through to Drum & Bass. 

At 16 years of age Midlands based Tollgate Shindigs was hosting his own multi genre events in various local pubs and clubs which led to a regular event called ‘Nocturnal Combustion’ at the once thriving Crazy Daisies in Coventry.  At these events he would book and DJ alongside artists in the calibre of Andy C, Ed Rush, Bryan Gee, SS, Bad Company, Ratty, GQ, and Flux.

In the early 2000's he learned his craft at Coventry Technical College where he studied Music Technology.  In the years that followed he has had successful releases on both Root97 and BrainRave Music with more releases in the pipeline.

Fast forward 30 years and having recently played for brands such as Amnesia House, Raveology, Standard Procedure Presents & BrainRave Music he has once again become an active member of the Drum & Bass community and has found a renewed passion for both DJ’ing and Music Production.
