Great recording . apart form the JrF mics. what equipment did you use?

The Empress cicada starts calling as the sun sets, just as daytime birds are winding down their calls and nighttime creatures are waking up. You first hear distant ones, and it almost sounds like some industrial metal cutting process. Long version at https://youtu.be/6ZPDYlvj7MM

Thunderstorm at the lake

This year London has experienced several weekends of the hottest summer and that moved the Australian sound artist Kate Carr, whose practice is centred on articulating the relationship between people and place through sound, to point her microphone at the city. This volume is based on her recordings during a particularly hot long weekend in a corner of very busy intersection in London, where she resides now. In Heatwave, Carr is interested in both the serious and also the more prosaic aspects of soundscapes related to climate change. She investigated the throbbing summer music from her neighborhood, people’s efforts to keep cool, and the uneasiness which accompanies these everyday activities in this moment of environmental crisis. The way these pieces construct and compensate, with all the tangible sounds that fold into larger moods via multiple instruments, exemplifies her acumen in creating sonic stories that reflect our multi-layered experience of reality.

Two JrF C series contact microphones placed on a metal fence on Monday 11th March around 7:30pm. Temperature around -1 degrees.
Strong gusts of wind create the sounds on the metal fence. Very little could be heard with the human ear, by placing two contact microphones on the fence, this is what came through my headphones. 
In the middle of the recording the wind calms a little before once more blowing up to gusts of force 5 or 6. The high crackles towards the end of the recording is snow hitting the fence and microphones.

Starting to work with different layers from my bicycle recordings. This sketch includes recordings where contact mics are attached to the bicycle while riding, and ones where it is stationary and 'played' as an instrument.

Wildlife interactions can often bring out all sorts of unconventional sounds, allowing us to hear more natural communication, which can sometimes be aggressive, or more intimate. I wouldn't like to guess whether this is aggressive or intimate but that sound towards the end is certainly compelling.
