Clocking in at an epic five and a half minutes, “Disco“ starts out with a pulsing, tight 2/4 techno beat that instantly grips the listener. Syncopated hi hats complete the groove, and a series of brooding, low-end synth noises conjure a darkly psychedelic vibe. This forms the bedrock for the hypnotic vocal refrain delivered in a powerful low register, “Under disco lights, do you feel alright…”. What’s impressive is both the energy and vitality of the music and the top rate production which shows TOLEE has become a master of his craft. Though nearly six minutes in duration the surging musical momentum carries on till the end.
