I Will Stand

In 2010, Crowded House announced a contest for fans to write music and lyrics, aka topline, to a prerecorded Crowded House instrumental track. They released this, then Dan O'Leary and I set off to write the topline. Dan wrote lyrics and I came up with the melody. With some help from Seth Paul Freeman producing my vocal as I sang into a Neemann U47, here's the result.

However, Neil and the boys did not choose our version.

But I can still say Dan and I co-wrote with Neil Finn, right?

More than a Million Years

A song we used to do in my band the Opposites, back in Fresno.  Peter Bishel and Kelly Barnard were the writers, but I never thought the song was finished until it had a bridge, which Peter and I finally wrote (I won't say how many) years later, and we finally recorded it.
