01 Trance Et Bcp D'acid

Pureblast (@pureblast) sums up the essence of the duo, at the crossroads of their explosive and contagious energy. Their music brings out something moving and elusive, which is particularly apparent when they perform. Capable of transforming a concert hall into a dance floor or building up a club's energy to the level of a punk show, the duo manages to adapt to the different venues they take over, giving audiences a whole new experience of partying.

In 2020, as the world prepared to go into lockdown, Cristofeu (DJ and producer) and sa+ga (DJ, singer, poet, author) were in Vienna, Austria. Confined together, they had plenty of time to make their respective artistic worlds meet and compose an initial series of tracks featuring poetic vocals, acid tones and synthetic layers drawing on trance, trip-hop, jungle and rock. A hybrid, uncompromising mix. This synergy gave rise to a 7-track Debut EP in 2022, which impressed with its maturity, cinematic power and dreamlike force.

In 2024, the duo returned with a fresh rock-infused EP named Psycho. Six new songs blending big beats, drum’n bass and trance with their touch of madness. A powerful piece shaped for the live with nameless energy and inspirations from Yves Tumor, Prodigy, 3L3D3P or Underworld. Psycho dives the duo into a new sonic and visual universe in which they reveal their alter egos.

This is just the beginning for the band, whose cathartic, futuristic music is likely to echo long into the night. As anyone who has listened to Pureblast knows: with a sound like this, this is only the duo's first detonation.

A riddim called 'Hardway' was given to the UK veteran Tippa Irie from London for some lyrical nice up. He approached it with a conscious message and with his original chatting style and wrote and voiced a powerful tune on the riddim - speaking out against all wickedness and injustice by the police - a topic truly important to us. So get ready to skank in unity, teach them about power to the people and 'put up yur hand, if yu don't like police…'

The flipside holds another ruff digital remix inna hardcore fashion. Responsible is none other than the french ‘dub invader’ Natural High Dubs - well-known from his longtime involvement in the Lyon dub scene and projects like High Tone and their sound system force Dub Invaders.

Musical ammunition against police oppression.

Both sides were transferred to 1/2inch Tape for extra analogue warmth, mastered with care and pressed on high quality 180g vinyl by Star Delta / Delta Disc, UK - of course also digikally available. The artwork is again by none other than ohoroho from Slovenia.

‘Runaway’ and ‘Burn Down Babylon’ are the result of the meeting between Le Lab and Tawam. They are two high-quality songs for the Sound Systems. Between sunny One Drop and militant Stepper, “Le Lab meets Tawam” is the new release of the Culture Dub Records netlabel, of course for free download!

Le Lab is the experimentation ground of two young producers, Pierre and Roméo, Dub and electronic music lovers. After several years of prototypes, crash tests and experiments with uncertain outcomes, a first album, “Sound Chemistry”, was released on the Marée Bass label. Le Lab is back, this time for a meeting with the singer Tawam, two songs sung and dub, in the pure tradition of Extented Versions!

Tawam is a young multi-instrumentalist singer, who collaborates for the first time with producers from the Dub environment. Tawam's ideas were put together at Le Lab to create the track 'Runaway', where he offered a vocal performance inspired by Jamaican vocal trios such as The Wailers, The Heptones and U-Roy's toast. A sunny One Drop that ends with a misty extended part to the delight of the Sound Systems.

"Burn Down Babylon" takes up the theme of the track "Alpha Dub" from the album "Sound Chemistry" released in September 2019. Tawam reclaims this Stepper and makes it a Rasta hymn to the Babylon system and the frustrations it engenders.
