Melbourne's most militant sonic futurist Hedchef deviates slightly from his alien electro mission to unleash a proggy, breaky, trancey anthem that seduces you into a 'Perpetual Loop'. Jerky polymetric synth patterns glide over crushed breakbeats and ethereal synth work to bring a considered yet focused dancefloor weapon.

Hedchef is a Melbourne-based producer and DJ originally from Oxford, UK, where he’s affiliated with labels Fly By Night and Circular Jaw; and runs his very own show with Threads Radio. He’s had a slew of head-stomping releases with Ecke Records, Left Right + Centre, Cyber Domain and more, with his own seismic brand of jagged electro, broken techno and UK bass.

To celebrate the end of 2021 and Spinning Around's first year in action, Highly Minogue has invited a number of this year's guests to contribute to a new charity compilation. The compilation features new original productions from each artist, with all proceeds going directly to Australian First Nations organisations - including Pay The Rent and the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service - causes Highly feels strongly about after the loss of his best friend back in 2014.

Rushing us headlong into a vorticist maelstrom of hard-edged drum stutter and polychromatic synth fragmentation, Sansibar sophomore long-player for Kalahari Oyster Cult - “Sans Musique” - tackles the very essence of post-trancey, breaks-loaded UK blends with unabashed joy to wreak havoc on his path. Throughout seven tracks oozing burnt kerosene and depleted uranium residue merged with a hint of sacred incense, Sansibar deploys his extra-wide vision for the present and future of dance music.

“Scully” attacks pedal to the metal, hi-intensity bass onslaughts and knee-buckling breaks roaring as the groove slings us at bullet-speed into a hot, narrow barrel of floor-focused aggression.

"Moogie Fox got his first points of contact with electronic rave music back in 2006, when he started DJing drum & bass under his alias Mr. Grünkern. What followed was a long and satisfying journey through the worlds of broken beats and bass music. Around 2008, he discovered his pleasure in production and released on the UK dubstep labels Dubstar Records and Southside Dubstar. Since 2019, Moogie Fox has focussed mainly on electro and breakbeat, inspired by a lot of new and old artists in different genres and especially the current electro scene. His style combines the sub-oriented focus of UK bass music as well as cold EBM basslines, spacey melancholic synthpads, aggressive technoid sequences along impulsive drums, paired with samples from science fiction movies and series. After his first two released EPs, he also released the "Zooma Patrol EP'' in collaboration with Philo on the Berlin-based label Headlight Recordings, and now he joins our brazilian family with four tracks full of bass, space, darkness and bounciness."

BUBBLE PREMIERE: Dylan Forbes - Ten Wibble [Fly By Night Recordings]

Mysterious supergroup Protect Ryan (@protectryan) make their HOMAGE debut with the 'Self-proclaimed Critically Acclaimed' EP, featuring four original rave bangers paired with remixes from five of the scene's most trusted underground producers. 

Protect Ryan unites three friends (all veteran producers) that first came together through their shared love of '90s rave culture. Their debut EP arrived on DJ Die's GutterFunk label and introduced the world to their distinct ethos, producing club-ready cuts that inject the dancefloor with big energy. Now they expand on their story with the purest form of their dynamic sound, the 'Self-proclaimed Critically Acclaimed' EP on HOMAGE. 

Leading off with 'Bro Magnum', Protect Ryan launch into an all-out assault of banging breakbeats and growling bass before a squelching acid line takes over. Then comes 'Liam Features', a track also forthcoming on TSHA's fabric presents compilation, which follows with more rouged rhythms paired with playful stabs transporting listeners back to the golden age of rave. Next is 'Senhor Whep' and its nostalgic drum breaks that lay the foundation for an absolutely naughty acid line building into peak time euphoria. Finally, rounding out the Protect Ryan originals is 'Unfinished BTEC' delivering the trio's most refined sound, with tight percussion and chopped vocals stacked on top of a smooth, deep, and emotive bass line. 

While the originals are enough to satisfy anyone's thirst for rave-ready anthems, the release is complete with a staggering collection of remixes. Building on the energy that was already laid out, Apparition (@apparition-noise) speeds up the bpm with their version of 'Bro Magnum' for a hyper bass banger. Then Club Glow's own Denham Audio (@denhamaudio) takes on 'Liam Features' with his signature breakbeat NRG before Boulderhead (@boulderheaduk) flips the same track into a bumping house cut highlighting the original's infectious bassline. Finishing off the release are two remixes of 'Unfinished BTEC', first by HOMAGE label co-founder Ryan Clover (@ryanclover) who's hard-hitting version highlights the deep squelchy bass and chopped percussion while Davis Galvin (@davisgalvin) delivers a sublime and ethereal downtempo chugger.
