Biography:
Enrique Jimenez aka Big Pack is the House Salad Music label boss out of Mexico City. He discovered his love for electronic music in the mid 90's when he attended house and techno parties with local DJs. From then on, his intimate love affair with house music began. The sound of Chicago with labels like Cajual and Relief and Prescription brought him the most inspiration. His whole trajectory changed and music became his life. The task of discovering music became an infinite loop of collecting records. After 11 years of touring dance floors as a spectator and amateur DJ, in 2005 he acquired his first turntables, technics 1200s. When he finally felt he had an extensive vinyl collection, he decided to venture into the world of DJing professionally.
Now, with some years of experience, Big Pack has played in key clubs all over Mexico, opening for artists such as Kevin Saunderson, Kenny Larkin, Derrick Carter, Phil Weeks, Wally Callerio, Andrew Emil, JT Donaldson , Oliver Dollar, 1200 Warriors, to name a few.

He is busy with several internet radio show residencies on Sugarshackradio.com, Radio Webphre and his own podcast & label, House Salad Music, featuring the best DJs in house music. He is in his 700th episode of HSM podcast and has yet to put one of his own mixes on this platform.

Convinced of the timelessness of music, his mixes are a real tunnel of time, where he plays classics combined with the freshest of modern house.

One minute he’s rocking the roof off at Fabric with his tough and funky big-room underground house; the next he’s charming the pants off a more intimate crowd with everything from dubby disco, funk and hip-hop to trip hop and Latin batucadas. Armed with a sensitivity and sense of occasion that few DJs possess Bill Brewster knows how to work a crowd in the best possible sense.

His other life is as a writer. Together with long-term pal Frank Broughton, Bill is author of the definitive history of DJing, Last Night A DJ Saved My Life, and has contributed his acid Grimsby wit and encyclopaedic knowledge of music to just about every dance rag there is, not to mention The Guardian, Independent and Mail On Sunday. The Brewster-Broughton double act unveiled their latest hit in 2002 with the uniquely sardonic DJ manual How To DJ (Properly). They have recently completed an updated version of Last Night A DJ Saved My Life that will be published in June, along with a double CD from Universal.

He’s an industry insider, having brought Twisted records to the UK and launched his own highly successful deep house label Forensic. In his spare time he is often found in the studio, either with Fat Camp partner, Theo Noble, re-editing old disco, funk and rock records; or producing original music. They run a small edit label Disco Sucks.

It’s difficult to come up with fresh ideas in this strange cabin fever environment we all have right now. Most of the time I take my inspiration and my ideas from the people dancing in front of me. It’s easy that way and exciting. But tonight I had this thought, I remembered something all DJs and dancers know about. I remembered what it is like when you have had a long set or session through the night or day. Or perhaps for a few days at a festival. And then at a certain point you are playing or dancing and everyone who is there wants to be there. This is the place. This is the time. It maybe isn’t the best gig or moment in your career or life. But for that precious period of time it is just you and the people on the dance floor. You are together as one and as a DJ you can do what you want because you are united in the music. This is often a great time to drop the tempo and play the music you love and which has real feeling. I love those moments. I tried to capture them tonight stuck in a studio on my own. Tribute To Daft Punk By Ben Gomori

I was invited to do a live stream on Saturday night for United We Stream GM and La Discoteque to help raise funds for a variety of good causes.

It was quite a unique experience to play alone in a room but know that hundreds of people were watching live and even doing zoom parties despite everyone being in isolation at their homes. Big shouts to everyone who sent me messages of support - it really helped as it was quite surreal knowing that loads of people were watching yet being alone. 

One of the maddest things was to see the zoom party footage afterwards - lots of people all dressed up and dancing (possibly on the vino) in their own homes. Wish we could all be together in a club soon.

Large Music Radio 54 Mixed by Homero Espinosa

Great to finally get some music in from Rick Prior, a fellow north east England lad, hailing from the mighty Darlington. Rick and I share a lot of the same friends and many of the same musical influences. This mix reflects that, maximum house music, disco and feel good vibes that manages to feel completely fresh, but laced with a classic sounds accessible to everyone. Creating a sound defines the dance floor in Barbary, one which everyone can enjoy regardless if you're a die hard or just there to have a good time.

"This mix is a great interpretation of how we do thing at Barbary (Dubai) every weekend. I’ve been a resident there for 2 years and shared the controls with the likes of Dimitri from Paris and DJ Spinna, to the amazing residents we have which any club in the world would be proud of. We do things a little differently than the ‘usual’ Dubai Party and I can safely say that supplying the music there has been one of my favourite gigs to date.
