Liarsenic crecio en una pequeña ciudad industrial en Mexico, lejos de la naturaleza y en medio del caos de los 90s, rodeado de musica pop, de alguna manera el destino lo llevo a los recovecos más oscuros de la musica y del sonido, empapado de conocimiento y pasión por la musica, Liarsenic nace en 2019 después de varios años de mezclar distintos tipos de electrónica, junto con su socio Orihuela en el extinto Indra Records de Querétaro, Mexico. Actualmente Liarsenic esta forjando su sonido particular que lo distingue dentro del techno sci-fi, industrial y moderno, trabajando en labels como Primitive State, Defmain, DZB, Despair Scape… Adicionalmente Liarsenic tiene el label mexicano Pure Nrgy, el cual ha tenido la participación de grandes exponentes del techno como Ricardo Garduno, Jose Monsalve, Juan Evangelista, Kevin Matto…

TANZGENTAPES VOL. 007: Carara

He’s Daniel, but within the scene everyone knows him as Spoon. At 34, he has been tied to electronic music since he was 16, when the sound first hooked him and never let go. While he has been part of the culture ever since, it was about eight years ago that he began taking the craft seriously and shaping his own path behind the decks.

His inspiration did not come from a single artist. It came from those early nights when the scene was raw and stripped down, with no distractions, just the DJ and the crowd locked in together. That unfiltered energy was enough to push him to start.

For Spoon, technical skills like beatmatching, mixing and track selection matter, but they are not the core of it. What truly counts is the ability to feel the crowd, build energy and create that unspoken connection where music speaks louder than words.

To stay sharp, he checks music platforms a few times a week. But his real inspiration comes from the dancefloor itself. The sounds and energy of the room linger, driving him to dig for fresh, evolved tracks that he then weaves into his own sound.

He has deep admiration for Malta’s local DJs, many of whom are friends and some who even feel like family. They are the reason the island’s techno scene is so strong. But the deepest influence on his journey comes from the resident DJs and founders of waX / in.di.go: Flash, Muski and Patient. Following them for the past eight years has shaped both his sound and his identity.

What makes it all worth it for Spoon is the crowd’s reaction, from the drop of the first track to the intensity of peak moments and the emotional breaks. Without words, you can see and feel the music connecting with people. That energy, especially with a crowd that truly understands it, is the most rewarding part of what he does.

I leave here my live recorded 1h mix from last weekend at TechnoCulture. A great open air party it was, this mix was made using some old tracks that I managed to recover and I had a blast. Everyone wants to play new music and sometimes we forget about "old" gems that still bang and feel updated. Enjoy this one as much as I did.
