If anyone knows how to get people off their feet to the dancefloor and get the club bouncing, it’s DJ Jordan. Ever since starting his career back in the ’90s, DJ Jordan has devoted a huge portion of his time getting to know the intricacies of the dance music industry through listening to music, learning to understand it, and implementing it into his own sets and music production. He has seen bountiful success since starting off in the clubs of Berlin, with his productions and remixes being featured on huge and influential imprints like Bonzai Records, Low Spirit, Suicide Robot, and Ostfunk just to name a few. His latest release ‘Unleashed Passion’ is sure to send ripples through the Techno scene and is another release to add to the discography of a long list of heavyweight productions to come from this talented artist. 

DJ Jordan takes a more trancing and psychedelic approach with his new release ‘Unleashed Passion’. He kicks off this hard-hitting Techno anthem with a subby kick drum teamed with a cracking snare drum backed by wavering industrialised synths that echo through the track and send shivers down your spine. Groovy melodies drenched with reverb engulf you as the acidic synths fade in and the angelic vocals commence, leaving you in a daze as the tension rises and a barrage of snares build-up to a melting point before the track descends into full acidic fury. The perfectly executed baseline and kick tag team commence again and we are left to enjoy the track in full swing. The Toma Hawk remix changes the vibe of the song, with more subtle nuances added into the mix to provide that deep sense of atmosphere. While aspects of DJ Jordan’s original remain persistent, Toma Hawk uses his skill and dexterity for music production to take us on an entirely different journey with his remix, the incorporation of the low-end grungy FX and ominous laser effects keeps us locked in as the booming kick drum drives the track forward, a blissful Techno treat.

This is DJ Jordan’s first experience working alongside the imprint ‘Lakota Music’ to showcase his inimitable knack for music production, and he definitely seems to be in the right place. There is no doubt that DJ Jordan will excel working with this renowned Techno label, and we are excited to see what’s in the pipeline for his next release, but right now we are going to kick back and tune into ‘Unleashed Passion’, a real Techno stormer.

Mon.Ton is a project from the Techno sensation Toma Hawk who has seen bountiful success ever since testing the waters with his unique flair and deep cuts of Techno. Toma Hawk demonstrates just how talented of a Producer he is with previous releases like his ‘Green Fairy’ EP, ‘The Dead Don’t Die’ and ‘Black Widow’ which have seen large amounts of support and success not to mention his latest release ‘Come To My Place’ which is nothing short of the latter. Mon.Ton represents an exciting new beginning for this style of Techno, a deeper and darker sound that isn’t afraid to get into the nitty grittiness that Techno fans adore.

‘Come To My Place’ starts off with a thudding kick drum to get the ball rolling, joined by hi-hats that come in-between the kick drum for that added layer of dimension to get your body moving to the rhythm of the song. The fleeting reverbed claps every so often proves to be a nice touch combined with the ambient and entrancing FX thrown into the mix to sweeten the deal. Toma Hawk shows off the idea of this newly developed knack of his through the development of the industrial and robotic tones and the eerie vocals to hold airy breaks and the subs are given time to recover. This leaves room for the incoming drop as the song is stripped back to reveal lingering surgical beeps before the main components are faded back into reality with unique vocals that float around in the depths of the speaker before the kick drum flips back into action, instantaneously exuding that grungy atmosphere Mon.Ton has successfully encapsulated through this production.

Representing Mon.Ton’s release is Lakota Music Raw, another well acquitted Techno powerhouse label that keeps on delivering from Toma Hawk himself. This record label harnesses the idea of demonstrating the excellence of deep Techno and the many amazing artists around the genre that have come to feature on this label to bring the idea alive.

25 years in the industry and Toma Hawk is still producing tracks that are absolutely of a gold-standard and this time he is armed with ‘The Watcher’. Toma Hawk is back with a brand-new EP called ‘Music For A New Generation’ and by no means is he messing about! The title track begins with a galloping beat and a variety of percussive intricacies that make up its own melody. There's a harnessed wildness about the track that sucks you in and forces you to focus on every little detail within the production. Toma Hawk introduces a deeper groove with hints of vocals before becoming more and more intense with each bar and a forceful bassline driving the way. In true Toma Hawk fashion, a trippy filtered vocal infiltrates joined by dramatic stabs as the ferocity rises into another heart-stopping drop.
 
The second track on the EP is ‘Snatch’ which launches into a percussive intro that gives off an almost jungle vibe ahead of a booming bass that dominates the track. ‘Snatch’ is much funkier in groove as the hi-hats take control of your feet, making you want to dance along. Cinematic synths dance across the background highlighting the complexities within the production.

Mon.Ton vs Toma Hawk – Women – Sinister – Move. 

After building the Mon.Ton sound over this past year, we finally get to see Toma Hawk merge his two monikers and boy has he delivered. ‘Women – Sinister – Move’ is a 3-track release that sees a whole new sound. ‘Women’ is the first track that is uptempo with erratic hi-hats and an earth-shattering synth that swarms in and out slowly but surely introducing you to the track. The music then drops out to a sinister vocal reciting wedding vows over the top of a sporadic beat. The usual heavy Toma Hawk bassline is missing from this release but he more than makes up for it with twice the amount of rhythm and pace. 

‘Sinister’ is the next release on the EP which features a hard-hitting bass with military-like drum rolls. Toma Hawk starts the party with intensified claps placed over the beat to get you into the groove. ‘Sinister’ is on a constant climb of intensity with an element of controlled chaos bringing you back down to earth. Just when you think you’ve heard it all, Toma Hawk totally switches the track to a classic house piano chord section before returning back to its rampageous beat. 

Last but not least, ‘Move’ is the final tune on this release and it is gorgeously dark and heavy with a galloping beat whilst atmospheric soundwaves are gently dancing in the background. Toma Hawk truly shows of his mastered skill set as this track is intricate yet club worthy as it draws you in to get totally lost within the music. This is the final release from Toma Hawk this year and what a year it has been! With a string of sensational releases under two different monikers and an ever-growing roster of artists on his record label Lakota Music and sublabel Lakota Raw, Toma Hawk has proven once again that he is a main stay in the Techno scene.

Toma Hawk -  Biography 

From modest roots to global club culture, Toma Hawk has had a career spanning for an impressive 25 years. Throughout those years Toma Hawk embarked on an inspirational journey though both confidence and doubt all whilst constantly developing and dedicating himself to his one true passion. Electronic Music.

Coming from a family of thoroughbred musicians, with both his parents’ experts in the fields of piano and vocal, Toma Hawk has music flowing through his veins and has built upon this to establish who he is today. Toma Hawk laughs as he claims he ‘can neither sing nor play piano but is forever grateful’ for finding his place in the electronic music scene. 

Having built his life around Techno, Toma Hawk shows off his musical upbringing through the intricacies of his music and has released several stunning tracks including ‘Build Love’ and ‘Inside Out’. After having a few years out, Toma returned back to the studio in 2017 with his main focus on the music and devoting himself to the fun that comes with creating and has been releasing music better than ever before. 

To share his skill and knowledge and wealth of experience, Toma has also founded his very own record label Lakota Music where he releases his own music and is in the process of scouting talent to nurture and mentor. Not only does Toma Hawk create outstanding Techno tracks, he is also a master behind the decks where his love shines through and his selections take you on an ecstatic journey through the deep realm of Techno. 

You can encounter Toma’s signature stylings through podcasts and online platforms whilst he sets his sights on returning back to the stage this year as he plans to give back to the community and contributes in keeping the global underground scene alive.
