It was a great honor for me and, above all, great joy - to participate in this great compilation from Future City Records. It was a great honor not only for the film but for Vangelis, who influenced us very much. Today we have many tools that help us create our work. We have to realize that he did not have these options at the time, and yet the music he created with the minimum of possibilities is still timeless. Thanks to Vangelis.

Vincent van Gogh passed away July 29th, 1890,
“Vincent’s Letter” was released July 29th, 2020

I figured there’s no better time than 130 years later…

When I was very young, I had dreams about his paintings. 
 His paintings inspired a deep love in me for art at an early age, and I wanted to be a painter like him

 Music won me over, but I remember being about 10 or so - when I first started playing music a lot - and I promised this self-portrait painting of Van Gogh that I’d write a song (or several) for him that a lot of people would hear.  Yea I made a verbal promise to a painting.  
It wasn’t the first or last time...  I was a weird kid.

The funny thing is?  This isn't even Van Gogh, as I much later found out.  It's "Dr. Gatchet", who was a physician who was treating Van Gogh.  Vincent painted him, and they actually look a lot alike!  But I made the promise to this painting, so here it is

The fantastic wizard of ambient, contemplative, meditative and experimental sounds 𝗡𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗡𝗼𝘁𝗲 (@mmastalka)has challenged me and other fabulous musicians to complete the puzzle [you can check it at https://soundcloud.com/mmastalka/sets/100-discount ]. 
It's not just an honor to be able to add something to Milan's work, is just like looking in a magic mirror that shows me parts of myself that I never knew existed as a musician... It's so inspiring and makes me very happy, very emotional to be able to see my creativity being pulled to such beautiful places. Music is this unbelievable portal to universal communication, to inner looking and so many mysteries still being discovered. 
I began by picking Milan's sound and convert it to Midi, so I could create new layers with vsts, but then while listening to it for the 4th time I prepared my mic and soundboard to record my adored Bansuri Flute... Magic occurred as I found my self singing, improvising with my voice and with two simple sentences that came out on the process. After recording the voice, the bansuri was a cosmic flow of what had to be. 
I hope it was up to the challenge, for me it was a wonderful spiritual moment. And I'm grateful. Thank you so much Milan!

Não é só uma honra poder adicionar algo à música do Milan, é como olhar para um espelho mágico que me mostra partes de mim como músico que eu nem sabia que existiam... É tão inspirador, tão feliz, tão emotivo ver a minha criatividade ser puxada para lugares tão bonitos. A música é um inacreditável portal para a comunicação universal, para o olhar para dentro e para tantos mistérios ainda por descobrir.
Comecei por pegar no som do Milan e converti para Midi, para poder adicionar camadas de instrumentos virtuais, mas após 4 vezes de audição do tema original, preparei o meu microfone e a minha placa de som para gravar o meu amado Bansuri... E magia aconteceu: dei por mim a cantar, improvisando com a voz e com duas frases que apareceram no momento. Depois de gravar a voz, o bansuri era apenas uma fluência cósmica que tinha de ser. 
Espero ter estado à altura do desafio, para mim foi um momento espiritual de maravilha. Estou muito grato. Obrigado Milan.
