we are back after traveling and spending some time in mystical India. Our guest for today is BLNDR(@blndr) from France. This week’s episode is a mystical performance by our friend from across the borders. Don’t hesitate to let your mind drift away with the music.

Monument:
How did your interest in techno music come about?

BLNDR:
I started listening to electronic music in 2007 when "Justice" first album "cross" came out . It was a revelation that made my interest in electronic music grow! Then I started listening to larger genre such as techno and house. My interest in techno really came out when I discovered Underground resistance's Nation 2 Nation EP.

M:
Give us a briefing about the labels that you are on (Container and Hypnus records)

B:
Container & Hypnus are two realy different things . Container is a collective that gather techno lovers, producers, graphic designers and party organizers. With that team we are able organize our own techno parties in Paris and it’s suburbs! Hypnus is the label where i will release my first EP really soon! It is a Swedish label that shows an interest in deep hypnotic techno. I am really proud to be part of the Hypnus team. Lots of talents... and a great boss :)

What inspires you musically?

B:
I am really inspired by the Industrial vibe you can find on the techno scene today. Metallic Dark & cold tracks... With also strong inspiration from the Dub, acid, deep & mental techno. But when it comes to DJing i sometimes like to play really hard sest with fast BPM. Classic Rave Acid tracks mixed with recent techno artists such as Truncate, Psyk or Luke Slater.

M: 
Give us your take on the techno scene today

B:
The Techno scene today is really inspiring for me... so many great producers & labels.
I'd say my top five label of the moment are: Mote Evolver, Prologue, Sandwell district, Stroboscopic artefact & Avian.

M:
What is your favorite record of all time?

B:
Quite difficult question... It might be "The Campfire headphase" by Board of Canada...

Here's a cut from a dj set recorded at Rhythm Rapport rave in LA last year. Decided to put it up despite it's not perfect and quite a spontaneous rollercoaster cross genre techno mix of minimal techno, classics, dub techno, chicago etc But hey what the.. Peaktime stuff. You should have been there LOL, the home listening wont translate the awesome vibe of that particular night.

Advice for the DJs, artists and producers of our community: Trust your body; it does not lie. Put your whole being into your creative projects. Use your fear to focus. Take your time. Resist the temptation to compare yourself to others! If you have a tendency towards to perfectionism practice patience in order to refine your offerings instead of abandoning them.

It is undeniable that we are living in uncertain times. For those of us failing - or refusing - to fit the patriarchal, neoliberalist mould we have lost hope in the future. We can see capitalism is not working but we cannot yet envisage an alternative. We discover that the stability we were instructed to obtain whether it be financial, political or ecological, is fleeting, if at all. The resulting anxiety is an instrument of neoliberalism that prevents many of us from being able to raise consciousness of the structural injustices that alienate us.

In a world where security is no longer feasible, the only constant we can rely on is change. Barad teaches us that the world is a dynamic process of intra-activity and materialisation, an ongoing ebb and flow of agency. The Buddhist Law of Impermanence proves that nothing in this world is eternal. Regardless of ones point of reference we can understand that every aspect of life, physical and mental is in flux and perhaps this transience is the only thing we can depend on.

Each month we invite an artist to ruminate on these ideas and create an hour of relief from these anxieties. A temporary suspension of reality, where the listener can speculate on alternate modes of existence that reject hetero- patriarchal systems of oppression.

This month we have invited @syberkid to respond to this concept.

Our next guest, Sabine Hoffman, is most certainly the latter mentioned. With an infectious passion for vinyl and an immense musical knowledge that encompasses all subsections, she has been enchanting listeners and building support systems in her hometown of Berlin for years. Her event series "Frauengedeck" spotlights the female and non-cis talent around her and provides a platform to lesser-known artists. O-Ma is a live artist and track maker from Japan. His music has no conventional musical background and cover a wide range of genres from techno, ambient to experimental, jungle and IDM. He performs regularly in Japan and overseas, taking his modular rack with him whenever he goes. He is also a member of MNMT (Monument) as correspondent.

Bun Saito (Terraforming / Pandora) Bun Saito has been active as a house and techno DJ since 2000. He spent 6 months in England in 2012 for intensive DJ study, where he participated in local squat raves and was baptized in the underground rave culture. After returning to Tokyo, he continued his development as a hardcore DJ, experimenting with drum and bass and jungle styles. He currently interacts with a wide variety of artists in the Japanese underground scene. Bun is constantly fine-tuning his home sound system to push the functionality of dance tracks to their limit and experiments with ambient noise and environmental sounds while delivering top-notch tunes that pack the dance floor.

Human Lessons #045 - fulusoma (O-Ma x Bun Saito)

Tomas started his career in the golden era of minimal and glitch techno and helped to define the genres. 
His live performance at the inaugural Mutek festival in 2000 caught the ear of Force Inc who signed him shortly after, just eking-out Akufen to become the first Canadian on the label. In the era where vinyl still ruled, and digital downloads were just a twinkle in some corporation's eye, Tomas dropped albums on Traum, Klang Elektronik, Revolver, Audio.NL, and more. 
Since then, two decades of producing has seen Jirku manipulate house on Arbutus Records; hip-hop with his laser-gun-rap project The Killaz; dub on his highly regarded "Entropy" album; electro, ambient, and other experiments that defy genres. With experience performing around the globe and having made his mark on innumerable record labels, Tomas has been honing back in on techno, aiming to maximize the brain and body connection that deep techno can provide.
His recent releases on Seattle's Innerflight, Berlin's Thoughtless, Vancouver's Subspec, and Rome's Concrete record labels further prove that the Canadian producer has built a strong repertoire by not doing anything straightforward or ordinary.
