Every Formula One engine has its own distinctive sound and Phil Hill identifies them - Jack Brabham’s Repco V8, Jim Clark’s Lotus Coventry-Climax V8, Richie Ginther’s V-12 Honda, and John Surtees’ Cooper Maserati, as they warm up for the start of the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.  The next sound track is the best loved of all racing sounds, that of a V-12 Ferrari, obtained from a tape recorder mounted on Michael Parkes’ Formula One Ferrari as he lapped the Monza road circuit in Italy.

Recorded off aTechnics 1200 with some post processing in Audacity and ClickRepair.
