With his third Release of the Bella Avgvsta series, Daniel Bortz shows that Augsburg offers more then its famous Puppet Theater.
The opener “Don’t Forget Your Sword” provides crystal clear Techno, discreetly interrupted by accented fades of an exotic theme.
With rolling Dub sequences, decent recurring swishes and a peaceful break “Jump In The Water” describes the impression to dive into the humid element.
“Lonely Soldier” then provides more power again. The basic theme which is dominated by a minor tone displays an inner unrest created by the unknown that is daily lurking out there for us.
The beautiful deep Dub-Track “Hide From The Sun” finally plays with the change of shimmering heat and chilly shadow. Who does not know the feeling on a hot Open-Air-Afternoon to take an occasional time-out from the merciless burning sun.
Overall this is the most personal and deeply emotional Release and as we think a worthy highlight and conclusion for the Bella Avgvsta series.

In collaboration with Miami-based imprint Bimini Records (home to the likes of Luca M, Baez and Framewerk), Chapter 24 Records co-founder Sam Pauli is giving away his remix of Danny Oliveira - 'Diamond Faces'. Pauli has crafted a near seven minute epic, a brooding cut where the deep melodic vibes and tinged with a progressive edge. I’m a Cliché is proud to present Red Axes’ second release on the label, a few months after their ‘Tour de Chile’ EP. ‘1970’ EP is composed of three new original tracks by the exciting duo from Tel Aviv. These three rays of light in the batcave confirm what stroke label’s head Cosmo Vitelli most in the first place: their talent in smartly winking at dance music history while integrating all the codes of modern production.

1. “1970”, the title track, is a dance ballade with an obvious touch of Balearic. Mixing images of soap-ad kids and fighter planes in the video made to it is like mixing lightness and darkness in their music: very natural after all.

2. “Walk Alone” provides further evidence of this combination: the brisk piece of techno seems a hopping walk through sunny lands at the edge of a ravine.

3. “Joseph Cookies” samples a masterpiece from New German Wave band Malaria and, while keeping the punk flavour, turns it into a slow anthem for captivated dancers.

Additional background about Red Axes:

Red Axes is a project created by Tel-Aviv based producers and DJs Dori Sadovnik and Niv Arzi. 
The duo has been performing together for over 6 years, first as members of the new wave / post punk band Red Cotton. After living in Amsterdam and traveling in Europe, the guys returned to Tel-Aviv and began an underground psychedelic electronic party series called "Break It!". 
In 2009, they established a new vision and concept for all of their artistic endeavors - focusing on house, disco and techno. Several Red Axes EPs came out  between 2009 and 2011, on Statra Recordings and Klasse Recordings. 
2012 started with “Tour de Chile” EP on I’m a Cliché and continues with an other EP on the same label, “1970”, in addition to remixes and original tracks for La Belle or Clouded Vision. Their work in editing masterpieces and live-performing helped them push their boundaries both as DJs and as producers. 
In the Tel Aviv night scene they were booked to play alongside Luciano, Richie Hawtin, Pilooski, just to name a few... Playing in Tokyo in summer 2012 was a step further towards transcontinental recognition.
