A selection of essential "AOR" and some fusion, funk and smooth jazz numbers from Japan.I bring you my ultimate tribute to a period in my Japanese musical heritage.There was a weird period between 70s and 80s where Japan was pushing the envelope in contemporary jazz called "AOR". They were influenced by American bands like Airplay, Bobby Caldwell and Steely Dan. I can't pretend to have been huge AOR fans at the time, but have grown to love it now, with help from some friends.Using their records and cds, i tried give you our take on 70-80s AOR. It should be a real delight to your ears.I hope you to play more of it in the future.
