The Impulse, as in, to act on creative impulse with no second-guessing or deliberation, just unbridled action. This is a 4-track EP as one long, stream-of-consciousness flow-state sample-based experimental electronic track. 'Oneohtrix Point Never' meeds 'The Book's and other experimental-electronic-meets-dance-music artists.

This is another music production flow-state stream-of-conscious sample-based 5-track EP of electronica sound-collage 'samplewave', incorporating odd samples, sound design, binaural / spatial audio, and other strange production. This is a follow up to Volume 1 from 2023. Inspired by 'Oneohtrix Point Never' meets 'The Books' meets 'Flying Lotus' and other random, fun stuff.

Staring At The Sun (TV On The Radio Cover)

Practice for a live version of Staring at the Sun in which I perform the guitar and vocals live to the pre-arranged song in Ableton Live. Much faster and heavier than my original cover, with significant remixing and rearrangement, mostly to accommodate using an electric guitar but also to sound a bit more faithful to the original version. Staring At The Sun (TV On The Radio Cover) (Live Practice #3)

This entire song was conceived, written, recorded, arranged, and produced within 7 hours (6:42 to be exact) in a single day. Completely exhausting but a rewarding and educational experience. F minor, 120 BPM.

1) Used Magenta Studio's 'Drumify' to auto-generate most of the beats from the melody
2) Relied on some pre-existing processing chains I had saved previously for vocal effects to avoid spending a lot of time fiddling with knobs
3) Did not do a full mixing pass on the vocals to automate volumes to consistency.

We Didn't Stoke The Fire (Billy Joel meets Hipster Ipsum)

Pulled the audio from another video of @tigerrider drummer Patrick Ahern's Instagram page (https://www.instagram.com/p/B2ZgYyMlIVw/), then added bass and synths. Took about 3.5 hours total to create and roughly mix. Been playing with new synths and basses in Ableton Live Creative Extensions and was messing with a lot of MIDI arpeggiators and automation. As well as with an 'unresolving' chord progression. Aspects of this are likely going to turn into the 'Iterator' Design Pattern.

A mash-up I made using two songs from Mice Parade, one of my favorite bands. If I remember correctly, I think I had to pitch shift one of the samples to be in key with the other.
