"Rudebwoy Corporation" - as times are getting crazier in the urban jungles of today, a few rudebwoys scattered all over the world join forces to deliver some serious musical artillery for all soundsystems…
A heavy combination of Dub All Sense from Italy on the machines and instruments and sensi bandelero Mr. Williamz from London, UK, militant souljah MrDill Lion Warriah from Naples, Italy, and "Old Shatterhand" aka Longfingah from Berlin, Germany, on lyrical duties. All mixed by dub pioneer Neil Perch from the legendary Zion Train.
The first side of the EP starts off with a ganja anthem inna steppaz fashion "Haffi Bun" - a tribute to all herb activists. Rolls on with some conscious autobiographical message about "My Story" a "militant story" - and ends with a ride into the wild wild west  on the horse of "Old Shatterhand".
The second side contains a spezial remix of each tune. A heavy soundsystem redub by Welders HiFi from Avignon / Aix en Provence, France, a steppaz dub version by Zion Train from Cologne, Germany ( / UK) and a groovy and spacious minimal dub remix by Jambassa from Irpinia, Italy.
Both sides were transferred to 1/2inch Tape for extra analogue warmth, mastered with care and pressed on high quality limited and hand-numbered 180g vinyl by Star Delta / Delta Disc, UK - digikally available through the 4Weed netlabel.
A special dedication to all musical activists. Stand tall, nah back against the wall.

- Wellwellsound from France -

Eljo Wellington aka Wellwellsound. He released his first oficial album on King Dub Records in 2013. His musical style is strictly in a 8 bit digital style, reminding the old nintendo, C64, Atari sound etc... Also his dub might well be futuristic, both in the choice of the sounds and in the way to put them together, WellWell works the old way: first, he builds the riddim, then he makes a dub version by torturing it with all the effects that comes to hand. The least we can say is that it rocks. Wellwell sound has for a long time now been doing some of the sharpest production in laptop 8 bit reggae and this is no less of a great effort from the french great producer.

- YUGO (Deltaforce sound Int) From Jahpan -
Yugo is a reggae selector / MC and Singjay from Yokohama, Japan. He represents 2 categories of sound : Delta Force sound since 2004, Roots temple JP since 2014 out of Yokohama, also home to the world famous Mighty Crown and a massive reggae music culture. Yugo has been playing with Delta Force around Yokohama since 2004. Yugo later moved to London & spent some years exploring the UK reggae scene & building solid connections in the industry whilst working at historical Reggae record shops like Supertone in Brixton. At the time Yugo met up with chazbo chong(Owner of roots temple, Bush chemist foundation). On his return to Japan, Yugo organised a Japan tour with Bush Chemists (Chazbo Chong & King General) & also with Kenny knots and Carl Meeks in 2012/13. Yugo also released a mix CD in Japan with Kris Kemist, having linked with Reality Shock family back in Reading UK. Yugo is currently expressing himself musically working on some digital dancehall influenced productions also spiritual music as roots temple productions & is available for bookings Roots temple, Delta Force Sound across Europe & worldwide.

Unit 137 enter 2018 with this weighty little free download from Ed West. The track explores the relationship between Dancehall & Jungle, sampling a vocal Ed discovered on a white label record with four dub cuts of the ‘Billie Jean’ riddim. The singer is called Squidley Steve and is still relatively unknown to us, despite some research.

Ed West is a producer, DJ & drummer who works with a fusion of styles. Ed has collaborated with some of the top MC’s in the game such as Parly B, RTKal, INJA, Gardna, & of course all of the UNIT 137 family. Ed has released music on Reggae Roast, Tru Thoughts, Born On Road & Boom Sound gaining support from BBC Radio DJ’s such as Rodigan, Toddla T & Don Letts on many of his previous releases.

‘Badman In The Dance’ sets the rhythm for Unit 137 in 2018, a heavy teaser leading up to the labels first album, which drops in April 2018.

Earl Sixteen - Run Come 7" [ISS058]

Scotch Bonnet Records revels in the sheer breadth of reggae and dancehall for their second daringly diverse Puffers Choice compilation. Following the success of 2016’s volume 1, the label arm of Glasgow’s Mungo’s HiFi has selected more cream cuts from their globe-trotting link-ups
 
celebrating sound system culture. Once again, each track comes vetted and endorsed by the Scotch Bonnet team as prime examples of their work.
The album starts with the beguiling, mellow tones of late great Rasta singer Bim Sherman. Lightning and Thunder is a Mungo’s remix of a vocal supplied by master producer/engineer Adrian Sherwood. Next up is French collective Subactive’s aquatic dub imagining of Follow Me by UK Garage/Grime project Wolves, featuring the voice of Bo* Johnson.
Another veteran revisits his past when hypnotic Jamaican deejay Supercat straddles Chief Rockas’ update of the classic Gunshot riddim for a reprise of “the Don Dada’s” 1982 hit Dance Inna New York. The vibes then travel bang up to date with a sparse Mungo’s fix of ethereal singer-songwriter Nem’s 2017 eco-breakout Purest Force.
Jamaican chanter Isha Bel pays tribute to her faith and follicles during Locks, given a belly-battering bass blend by Aquarius. The A side closes with a continuation of the Rasta theme. General Jah Mikey, channelling Burning Spear for his own Ites Green and Gold, rides a deft digital riff by bald-head New Zealand-based super-producer Naram.
The B side kicks off with a meeting of reggae’s finest from the city of Leeds. Danny T and Tradesman build an industrial-strength base for anti-violence lament Up Deh: a rare vocal outing from Iration Steppas’ Mark Iration. Then it’s time for Poland’s Dreadsquad to ease the pressure with swinging one- drop vibraphone instrumental Space.
JA meets “Glasgae” for Feel Good, an uplifting collab between Jamaican singer Skari and Scottish producer Escape Roots. Fans of Prince Fatty covering Kraftwork on the previous comp will rate vintage reggae voice Earl Sixteen, wrapping his pristine pipes around Joy Division’s Love Will Tear Us Apart, helmed hauntingly by Capitol 1212.
Scotch Bonnet’s own Thomas Stalawa gets everyone marching to a beat inspired by Steely and Clevie’s Dem Bow, as dangerous Spanish emcee Ponchita Peligros demands all in attendance Run the Calypso. The album ends with a request from un-categorisable Israeli collective Trillion featuring General G that puffers choose wisely - via anti-cigarette missive No Nicotine.
The Scotch Bonnet crew think you’ll agree: Puffers Choice volume 2 continues the bass-heavy balance of budding and seasoned performers, from “yard and abroad”. It’s another outer-national reggae and dancehall party you’ll pull up and play, again and again.
