Usted me pide que intente una décima sencilla
y es como una semilla que germina lentamente,
hasta brotar en la mente en rima bien amorosa,
buena senda peligrosa que dejo a su inspiración,
para que mude en canción, saliendo también airosa.

No es que me quiera dar dique o presuma de poeta,
mi copla es una saeta y si no me voy a pique
no quiero que me critique pues pongo todo mi esmero,
como en su casa el hornero que no será colorido
pero volando hace el nido y es bello como el lucero.

De a poco vienen los versos, el amor, el nuevo día,
ya vendrá la melodía que revele el universo,
fuego que lleva inmerso el oficio y la humildad,
sin olvidar la bondad que distingue la mentira,
vieja maña que conspira y es solo falsa verdad.

La copla debe ser cierta para viajar en el viento,
ser calma para el sediento en la hora más desierta,
esa fecha que despierta con sus versos la memoria.
Es la secreta victoria de aquellos que con su grito
de libertad han escrito las piezas de nuestra historia.

Y ya me voy despidiendo cargando todas mis penas,
sabiendo que si son buenas algo estaré aprendiendo.
Vivir es estar naciendo al milagro original,
que con fuerza maternal indica nuestro sendero,
para que sea verdadero del principio hasta el final.

I wrote this song based on a moment I had at then end of the day when I was just sitting at my piano, where I was just out of words to express how truly blessed I am to have the family, friends, and just the beautiful world that God has given me and everyone else who is willing to see it. Words will never be able to express the overwhelming gratitude that I have for what God has done in my life and the lives around me. There is no greater Joy or greater peace that I will ever experience outside of my relationship with God and his son, Jesus Christ. I just pray that everyone else can see it too.
