Norwegian duo Ost & Kjex have gone a long way: From their debut album “Some But Not All Cheese Comes From The Moon” (2004), which consisted entirely of sounds originating from cheese and biscuits, over their much applauded spicy second long player “Cajun Lunch” (2008, released on Diynamic) and many collaborations with high-flyers such as Solomun (“Federgewicht”), Jamie Jones (“Summer Time”) or H.O.S.H. (“Woo Hoo”), they have grown to become one of the few acts that perfectly bridges the gap between Underground Electronic music and Indie Pop.
Ost & Kjex found people liking their music, but nobody really believed in their modus operandi, the exclusive use of food as a sound source. In the blessed summer of 2008 the boys stumbled upon Solomun, the head honcho of Diynamic. A chance meeting resulting in a collaboration track called "Federgewicht", which was their entrance to his highly acclaimed record label.

Welcome to my "Night Minded ep." This project has been almost exactly one year in the making. I named the EP "Night Minded because all of the songs were inspired by different night time activities I enjoy. Things like: late night drive with friends or hanging out at cafes until late at night. Each song was created to capture the feelings I felt at night at different places.
This song was where to the whole ep began. Last winter the most Extreme winter in 40 years hit the Santa Cruz mountains. Our roads were washed out, the rivers flooded, and the power was in and out. It was beautiful and I do love the rain, but after months and months of rain I found myself craving summer. As I sat in my house being pounded by rain my mind kept traveling to a place called Pinecrest. You can pictures of it here.http://pinecrestlakeresort.com/ It’s a beautiful little like side town. We visit Pinecrest every summer, and I love it there. While writing this song I imagined a night on the lake, and watching the sun rise in the morning.
This song was also an experiment in contrast. I wanted to mix a lot of genres togeather but I wanted to do it in a seamless manner. This song is a mixture of Ambient, hip-hop, Dubstep, Glitch, and Future Bass.
