Psychedelic Jelly presents SUBROOT in this episode. SubRoot’s soundscapes span multiple genres ranging from deep dark hefty wonk to chill lofi. Originally hailing from the northeast USA, he recently made a move to northern Arizona, drawing inspiration from the natural surrounding beauty, infusing and weaving it through his music and ways of life. SubRoot’s journey into the world of electronic music began years ago with his previous project called Icaro, 2 best buds based out of Boston, MA. Connecting with the Fractaltribe allowed them many opportunities to make an impact in the music scene, releasing many tracks on renowned labels such as Merkaba Music, LostinSound, Mindspring Music, to name a few. The collaborative spirit of Icaro has led them to work alongside esteemed artists like Zebbler Encanti Experience, Living Light, Tribone, Govinda, Skytree, Supersillyus and many others. This mix features a lot of new and unreleased material, and reflects the new direction SubRoot is taking this project.

In this episode you can listen to a Live Set recording with original tracks and remixes by IMAGINATION PROJECT, a Ukrainian electronic psychedelic live act blending ancient musical traditions with modern technology. Each track fuses organic and digital elements into a unique sonic experience.  Founded in 2009 by Andrii Okujah (ShivaOm, Lacerta, Frog Prog / Amrita) as Art Imagination, the project was inspired by Secret Vibes at the Misterika Festival and renamed IMAGINATION Project in 2011.  The current lineup has been solid for the past five years: 🔹 Andrii Averin – producer, composer, sound designer. 🔹 Pavlo Solovyov – multi-instrumentalist specializing in ethnic music, playing handpan, jaw harp, vocals, guitars, banjo, shaman’s drum, flutes, and didgeridoo. 🔹 Josh Lipman – British guitarist adding a unique touch. Halfred is the culmination of years and years of aural exploration. Originally a drummer, the Italian born sonic warrior found his roots in drumming which led him to music production, along with a degree in electronic music production at SAE, in Milan.
His eclectic approach makes it hard to categorize his music and this is partially due to the fact that his sound breaks the often repetitive mold of psy music, seamlessly taking the forms of dub, hip- hop, drum n bass, garage, and world music and while staying true to his signature sound and focused on the micro details, he’s constantly experimenting with the squishy and granular side of psychedelic mid-tempo, drum n bass, dubstep, psybass and all things psychedelic.
During last years, he collaborated and remixed top notch artists like Desert Dwellers, Whitebear, Tribone, Zebbler Encanti Experience, Tryptich and had releases on labels such as Merkaba Music, Shanti Planti, Outtallectuals, Gravitas Recordings, Wakaan and more, as well as playing many festivals in the European scene, such as Modem, Lost Theory, Sonica, Create Culture, Wormhole Wednesdays and Final Fridays.

Feel Life series continues with a talk with Scottish sound psyientist Hedflux, followed by his special mix for the show.

HEDFLUX is the main music project of Scottish-born DJ/Producer Steve Young. A life-long electronicmusic enthusiast, Steve has been spinning in clubs and festivals since before he was legally allowed enter them. Starting out in the early 90s golden era of rave, he went fromold-skool breaks to nu-skool breaks via happy hardcore and drum& bass, spending all his money on turntables, mixers and vinyl while changing his DJ namem ore often than his underwear. In the early naughties he developed a naughty relationship with psychedelic trance. Inspired by it’s smooth curves, other-worldly atmospheres, and an unrivalled ability to produce kaleidoscopic visions in the 3rd eye, he endeavoured to step up his production game and synthesize the ultimate heady dancemusic hybrid: psychedelic breaks! The debut Hedflux track “Music Is MyWeapon” was released in 2008 and this set the archetypal template for the next 5 years of music, during which time he released more than 30 records and performed across the UK, Europe, Australia and America.

Psychedelic Jelly is proud to present the first in a series of nodes to keep you entertained during lockdown! A node is a spatial object which is used to represent the connectivity between two different waterway links, just as a mix is a way of connecting different songs.

First up is the incredibly talented Ekorce, one of the most promising up and coming talents in the psybass scene! Earlier this year he released his first LP on Merkaba Music and most recently put a song on our last compilation!
