Imagine growing up near Berlin, getting into dance music, going to Berghain for the first time and getting your mind blown by techno. Then, ten years later, you become a resident DJ at the fabled club. Not many people—any people?—can claim this story, but for Fadi Mohem, what would be so many DJs' dreams became a reality. After getting his 2017 debut 12-inch Reckless in the hands of all the right people in Berlin, Mohem established a bold, bouncy techno sound with releases on Modeselektor's Seilscheibenpfeiler, Ben Klock's Klockworks and FJAAK's SPANDAU20, pretty much the cream of the crop of modern techno.

Now, this year, he's becoming one of Berghain's newest residents, alongside other exciting names like Sedef Adasï and Naty Seres (and Lakuti upstairs at Panorama Bar). As heard on his recent collaborative with Ben Klock, Mohem has modern techno down to a science, thanks to a combination of reverence for the old-school and clever rhythmic touches, like the irresistible snare pattern on "Prefix." His RA Podcast sounds like what you might expect from a new generation of Berghain resident: aerodynamic, heavy and, honestly a little midtempo compared to a lot of other young techno DJs. It's the sound the club has made world-famous, with cuts from Reeko, Heiko Laux and Truncate, plus some special moments from aya, DJ Deeon and Petar Dundov. It takes a certain kind of DJ to get to this hallowed place, and Fadi Mohem deserves it.

Sigvard, Tom Hades’ alternate ego. Launched in the late 90’s with driving techno, containing elements of percussion and very precise resampled material, Tom has evolved over the years in many mixtures of musical styles. During the pandemic lots of time was spent in the studio where he gained his old love back on using external gear and the simplicity, but super effective production style using different layers coming from different gear. Sigvard was born as a fusion between pulsing rhythm and sharp dissonant synths, the result of the above studio working methods. Constantly curious how to improve both production and mixing and mastering techniques, Sigvard is on a constant growth in sound. Do not expect anything but detailed tracks, full of organic and human changes, going from pure direct techno to very complex IDM tracks through ambient soundscapes. Sigvard will not limit himself, the only thing in common will be his love of music and machinery.

Sigvard is a techno artist and producer from Belgium. Grown from a project from artist Tom Hades, Sigvard has returned to his stripped down arrangements and use of limited instruments in the studio. This has led to a more focused and direct sound that still retains the power and emotion of his earlier work.
Sigvard's music is influenced by a wide range of artists, from early pioneers like Kraftwerk and Afrika Bambaataa to more contemporary acts like Underworld and Laurent Garnier. This diverse range of influences can be heard in his music, which often blends elements of different styles together to create something unique.

Switzerlands !Organism imprint returns with a superb new single from Swedens Kimono featuring a great remix from Tom Hades. The !Organism label has built a solid following over the last couple of years with a string of excellent singles from label boss Yan Stricker and select artists. Now the Lausanne based imprint is back with a brand new single from Stockholms Kim Stockblom AKA Kimono. Stockblom has been a part of his home citys music scene for a number of years, running events involving well known artists such as Adam Beyer, Joey Beltram, The Advent etc. On the production front he has released records through labels such as Trapez, BEK audio and of course !Organism, for whom his 2010 release Mission 187 was a huge success. For his latest musical offering Kimono unleashes Impulse Responses, a four-track EP release featuring 3 brand new original cuts and a superb remix.The single gets going with the dark and rolling Constant Glitch, a tough and wonderfully unrelenting slice of solid techno that draws on metallic percussion, FX and a constant loop that keeps things firing along. Next up we have Megaton which journeys into equally dark but slightly deeper territory with an excellent heads down groove that is bound to find favour with the 6am crowd. The EP is concluded with two versions of the title track Impulse Responses. First of the two is the original version, a tight looped techno workout that stands up against the best Sweden has to offer and has you locked in from bar one. The second is a remix from talented and prolific Belgian producer Tom Hades who seems to up the intensity levels even further with a huge sounding mix that will no doubt create dancefloor devastation. More quality from a label that are definitely one to watch

It's been a whole since we brought you original material by the Czech / Australian duo Shades Of Gray. So here we come with a mini-album Circulate. All three tracks are quite divergent - each in it's own way. The acid infused title track Circulate has been produced using solely Micro Korg XL and early New York house samples. Cross & Divide has been heavily influenced by the early 90ties EBM music and Treading Water takes you on emotional melodic trip. On the remix duties we have our good friends JML from Flow Vinyl and Felix Cage from Wood Club Brussels. Enjoy the trip!

Soma Records is inarguably one of Techno's major forces in 2017 and since it’s inception on the streets of Glasgow, Soma Records has stood for uncompromising quality of the highest level in every area it operates. Label figureheads Slam formed the label in 1991 together with friends Glenn Gibbons & Dave Clarke and subsequently forged one of electronic music’s most widely known and well-respected labels. Soma quickly began to develop its own sound with classics such as Slam's timeless ‘Positive Education’ and helped launch the careers of many great artists like Surgeon, Envoy, Funk D’Void, Silicone Soul and Alex Smoke as well as the discovery of French duo Daft Punk who released their first rudimentary, raw outings on the label back in 1994.

With their eyes firmly fixed on a vision of the future, Soma began the quest to instil their unquenchable passion and thirst for electronic music onto the world around them.

Box Set:
Soma have enlisted the likes of Jeff Mills, Robert Hood, Steve Bicknell, Andrew Weatherall (appearing as Woodleigh Research Facility), Blawan, Adam Beyer and more to provide brand new musical excursions for today's dance floors and beyond. These, coupled with many of today's new, up and coming names in the techno genre like Kobosil, VRIL & Jonas Kopp choosing their favourite tracks from the Soma back catalogue to remix sees Soma’s futuristic vision remaining strong with the celebration of 25 years being one of a forward thinking nature rather than one of nostalgia.

Ostgut’s Kobosil brings Slam’s ‘Visions’ into the prevailing drone-ebbed world, the veiled VRIL douses the timeless X Track by Percy X in his dubbed out demeanour and Jonas Kopp’s EBM workout of another Slam classic, ‘Stepback’ creates the standpoint for the project: “Always forward, never back”. Jeff Mills’ provides otherworldly connections with ‘A Tale From The Parallel Universe’, Weatherall delivers future/retro acid and Josh Wink unleashes a 9min epic dance floor burner. Robert Hood provides a straight up, fast paced dance floor workout; all coming together to form the collective consciousness of the Soma attitude. Slam deliver ‘Tempest’, a track that perfectly sums up the whirlwind last few years the pair have enjoyed as they continue to be at the forefront of the global Techno elite. Completing the assemblage of original tracks is Soma’s own Funk D’Void, bringing his unique brand of jacked up electronics with ‘808 Planet’.

Visual Construct:
In accompaniment, Soma decided it was necessary to match the unique musical sensibilities displayed. This led to collaboration with Scottish artist Kyle Irvine. His highly detailed, powerful yet delicate illustration style is truly unique. Each design was handpicked by Soma especially for the box set, which features exclusive Soma 25 Logo stickers, a poster and illustrated vinyl sleeves. Each individual sleeve has its own story line with enigmatic characters including Lantern Man and Little Bo, who live in a dimension beyond our own. Look out for Kyle’s designs on the Soma25 remix singles and forthcoming, limited edition clothing lines produced in conjunction with Forty Clothing Glasgow.

Belgium based Tom Hades has become as something of a tastemaker in today’s world of techno. 
With years of experience in playing shows & even more in producing he exactly knows how to stick out of the masses with his really own signature sound. 
Tom started making music with his long-time friend Marco Bailey, with whom he also had his first releases with on labels like Drumcode. Techno always was, and still is, the only kind of music Tom could express his very own vision of music with. 
Tom’s sound always has a strong emphasis on straightforward baselines and eternal catching melodies – it is made for dancing! Often Tom also brings a certain melancholy to it, which enables a really unique listening experience. The focus on a typical Hades track is also always on strong percussion elements by bringing a fresh vibe to the end product, that saturates his audience as well as his fellow producer and DJ colleagues. 
His productions obviously align well with the selections Tom makes while being behind the decks. A set of Tom always focuses on keeping the tempo and strong melodies, while adjusting a certain groove. His sets combine classic productions, which he showcases in his weekly classic Sunday picks, with more current ones. For Tom creating the atmosphere through groove & strong repetitive melodies is the main goal. 
This year will see Tom releasing his productions on international renown labels, as well as expanding his global tour schedule. Tom Hades is a steady part of today’s techno scene!
