Montreal native Thomas Lipovac was born November 20th, 1984. Youngest of three, he was influenced by both of his older sisters’ music collections; from punk rock to electronic, the sounds of Moby, Prodigy, Massive Attack, Thievery Corporation and many more created a foundation for his evolving passion for creating music.
As a teen, he would meet some of his best friends and house junkie brothers who would kickstart his love for underground raw house. By 18, his love for these sounds lead to the discovery of his first after hour at Sona with DJ XL and DJ Lafleche. Since that night, his passion for dance drove him to Montreal’s dance floors every weekend. Those nights solidified his passion for dance and electronic sounds and lead to the development of his lasting relationship with House music.
A decade later, he began mixing music in his homemade studio. He channeled the passion he found on the dance floor and wanted to use it to further promote the underground House scene and make connections with new music lovers. His goal is to play in clubs and make his way to Piknic Electronic/Igloofest where he can make the dance floor vibrate to his energy level.
Tom has made a name performing at local prestigious corporate events and wedding parties. His list of clients include Warner Brothers, Queen Elizabeth, Grand Prix of Montreal, Festival de Mode de Montreal, Ballet de Jazz de Montreal, Musee des beaux arts, and many more. His most high profile show took place during Montreal Fashion Festival at the Antoine Laoun Sunglasses night party in the middle of Place des Arts where he worked side by side with one of Montreal’s legends - Pat Boogie. He also had the privilege of mixing in Croatia at the ZEN beach lounge in Split by the sea. With these experiences, he is ready to show the House community his own sounds and passion.
TomLeDj is an extremely versatile DJ who can cover multiple genres of music on a commercial and underground level. His personal favorite influences include artists like Mark Farina, DetLef, Green Velvet, Dennis Cruz, Stacey Pullen, Kevin Saunderson, Robosonic, Proudly People, and Tini. He loves to blend tech house dance floor burner tracks with minimalist deep house sounds.
He is a fresh new talent to watch out for now and in the years to come.
