Tom Mac’s brand new release ‘Macedon’ is a modern Australian love story that follows two people who meet online in different Victorian locations. In order for the romance to blossom they decide to meet half way on the top of Mt Macedon. 

From there a compelling tale of multiple trips to the breathtaking spot and various Victorian locations ensues.

The love story however did not last due to the unfortunate reality of modern day insecurities sabotaging what could have otherwise been a 'happy ever after' situation. Herein lies the heartbreaking moment in the song and the tragedy of lost love unexplained.

The birthing of what "Macedon" was to become all stemmed from what Tom describes as "a 30 minute rush of emotional energy after an abrupt and unexpected end to this budding love story. It felt as though something else was at play that night, an almost out of body experience writing the song, it felt like magic!” 

In order to bring this story to life, Tom teamed up with renowned Australian producer Pip Norman (Baker Boy, Troye Sivan, Missy Higgins, ) with the help of a host of highly talented Melbourne musician friends bringing rise to the spectacular string section. The tracks were recorded between Big Bang Studios and Park Orchard Recording Studios whilst Ben Last (mixing) and Chris Gehringer (Mastering) were brought in to bring the final touches to the magic that is "Macedon".

Thomas McFarlane Carty, now under the stage name Tom Mac is an Australian born singer/songwriter hailing from Victoria. This is somewhat of a comeback for Tom who has had time away from releasing for some years. Now laced with much more life experience and growth as a musician, Tom has been drawn back into songwriting, suddenly expressing himself in ways he’d never tapped into before. There is no better example of this than this highly anticipated upcoming release "Macedon", out October 15th on all major platforms.
