The theme is of communion with Jesus and recognizing not only His sacrifice on our behalf but of our ongoing relationship with Him. He is the Savior of the lost without whom we would be nothing.

An original song. The main melody for this one along with the words for the beginning and the bass guitar parts were in a dream. I recorded it while half awake.

I'm still working on the lyrics, but for now here's just an instrumental version.

An original song expressing joy in Jesus, who He is and what He's done.

The chorus originated in a dream of mine and I built the rest of the song off of it.

No Work Day

An original song describing multiple sides to what it means to put your faith in God and trust in Jesus' saving work on the cross. Our faith is not a blind faith as many think. In fact it's those who reject Jesus who are blindly walking on a path of destruction.

A Polarizing Thing Called...

I started this song when I was maybe around 16 years old and only had one verse and a half-finished track for the next twelve years. This year I went through some of my old, unfinished music and I felt like this one had potential, so I resurrected it from my old archives and worked on giving it new life.

In the meantime, I attended a Sunday school class based on the various facets of God's nature such as His wisdom, justice, faithfulness, love, goodness and sovereignty. The class ended up becoming a place for fellow Believers to share about the hurtful things they did in the past and how they still struggle to see themselves as truly redeemed in God's eyes. Yet through the class I think we all came away amazed (and teary-eyed) at God's goodness and the clear way in which He is at work in our lives, despite our failures and fears and oppression.

Many of the things talked about in that class contributed to the completion of this song.

Knowing God

The tune for this song came, once again, from a dream. Around the same time I was in a brief conversation online about a hymn called "Though Strait Be the Way" by Joseph Hart and the proper use of the word 'strait' versus 'straight'.

I built off Hart's hymn to create an original new song to the tune from my dream. Let us always maintain the fire of faith, in the midst of worldly distractions and persecution alike. Hart's hymn can be found here: https://hymnary.org/text/though_strait_be_the_way

Laodicea

Do you ever have those times when there are many things going on in the world that concern you whether on a global, national, local or familial scale - or all of the above? Sometimes this results in a vague sense of unease and burden on our souls - like a cloud hanging over our heads we can't seem to shake off.

I was feeling that way one day as I drove home from grocery shopping and decided to just sing my thoughts out loud. But not knowing exactly what to say, I just spoke to Jesus, "Why do I feel burdened? What weighs on my soul?" There are so many reasons to praise, but sometimes in order to get there, you first need to re-release your burdens at the feet of our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and... Prince of Peace.
