Sometimes an artist comes along once in a lifetime and his music hits you in the soul like a welly full of M&Ms into the chops.

Varkid is one of those artists. A relatively undiscovered name within the DNB world, he is now putting out his second full solo release on the label (A little overdue I know) and with enough
sprinklings of tiny beavers shouting “Anthem” to make you take full notice.

His previous outing was to many the best release Dirtbox has put out, with its aptly named “Bring The Fire” and title track causing a wave across drum and bass land as it was supported by both `Andy C` and `Dillinja` amongst other stalwarts of the scene.

Fast forward to 2024 and we are proud to announce this is only the beginning of Varkid’s journey as this release will signify the journey to his very first artist album and our 3rd artist album on the label Varkid aka Brent Kilner is no stranger to hit music though as under his real name has a vast array of Beatport Top 10s under his belt producing UK Garage, Speed Garage and Bassline House, but he felt conquering 1 music genre was not enough and thus Varkid was born from sunny Yorkshire.

On with the music

1/ Varkid- “Hide”

A very consistent, 1 weekly message of “When you gonna release “Hide” has echoed through the Dirtbox, inbox the past 6 months from Varkid, As he wanted to get his hit record out to the masses as quickly as possible.

He knew he had a hit. That rumbling intro builds us to a beautiful vocal, alongside some very retro synths and stabs that would not be a miss in a 70’s Nu-Romantic dance track.

We uplift and we bring the screw face on this drop. A truly magnificent piece of music that we are all but guaranteeing will smash all dance floors worldwide when it drops.

2/ Varkid- “Cold Heart”

For those familiar with the label we dropped a huge Liquid DNB album last summer titled `Vibe City` this, to many, was the stand out track of the album and we felt it needed a second airing on its own accord for this release.

We are doubling down on those epic riffs, uplifting synths and grin inducing vocals for this one.

A much more chilled affair on the drop but a beauty for those summer festivals and last track of the night vibes.

Varkid’s build up to his debut album will be a monumental one and we cannot wait to unleash these June 7th.
