In this exclusive commentary, Mathematics breaks down tracks from the album; from those co-produced by RZA (“Mandingo,” “Roar of the Lion”), to guest appearances from hip-hop OG Kool G Rap and next-generation inheritor Benny the Butcher. Continuing the thematic influence of Eastern martial arts on the Wu-Tang sound, Mathematics named the track “Executioners from Shaolin” after one of his favorite movies. “You knew it was about to be drama,” Mathematics says, about the soundtracks to those classic films. So when we finished mixing the album, I wanted to keep the lyrics and put a brand new beat to it so that it sounded like a whole new song."

MC Eiht chimed in to XXL with his own comments "When I originally got the beat from Brenk (Sinatra), rather then do something that glorified hustling, I wanted to drop something more along the story-line of how it’s so stressful in the streets.  Then Premier sent MayLAy and I a beat and it just fit my vision of how the game used to be perfectly; knowing hustling is still a necessary evil and having to deal with everything that comes with it.  Preemo heard the final product and said it needed to be on the album; so now its official."

Tommy Boy Entertainment is a legendary Hip Hop & Electronic label founded in NYC in 1981. The label is credited with launching the careers of notable Hip Hop legends Afrika Bambaataa, Coolio, Queen Latifah, House of Pain, De La Soul, and Naughty By Nature.

In 1989, the label became the first label to market its own clothing line to mainstream consumers via its Tommy Boy Gear line, partnering with brands like Stussy and Carhartt. Tommy Boy continues to license its logo to designers and retailers worldwide including Maharishi and Urban Outfitters.
