For this installment of our mix series we go back in time to 2014 and travel to Paris where Dubsta, Soul Flex owner played he's last ever live set representing Soul Flex at an event called Prism @ Glazart in the Heart of Paris. 

For a piece of Soul Flex history, it was this moment that Dubsta decided to take a break from Soul Flex, after years of running a label, dj'ing and promoting events (not just soul flex events, he was also involved in other events in London, Oxford and Brighton) the stress of juggling family and music life started to take its toll and it was at this event Dubsta decided to take a break. 

Although the love for Dnb never truly leaves anyone, family and work, life in general often has to take precedence. Hence soul flex went off the radar for some years, even swapping hands with another owner which never worked out. 

Roll on 2023, we are back and stronger then ever with some amazing new producers on the rota.... And maybe we might be back on the event scene one day.

Bio
Tally G (San Diego), behind the decks off and on for the past two decades, is known
for her diversity as a (mostly) drum and bass DJ, seamlessly blending jungle,
footwork, juke, and neurofunk, among other subgenres, most notably deep, dark,
techy minimal DnB. Every set is a journey, told through a combination of long,
thoughtful transitions, skillfully quick mixing, and energetic double drops guaranteed
to get bodies moving and gun fingers popping. She is one half of Hologynic and one
half of Tex n Bass. She holds residencies with Boomslang Recordings (USDNB), Siren
Project (NYC), Proper Chicago, The Distinguished (CO), Syncopation (AZ), and THC Kru
(USDNB) and is the co-founder of El Paso’s DNBtherapy Drum and Bass. Tally G is also
on the board of directors for Siren Project, an all female-identifying collective
dedicated to providing safe spaces for trans-, non-binary, and cis-women performers
who raise funds for various nonprofit organizations. She has played around the United
States and is currently learning music production.
