Back in 2002, I think it was, I told a really cool co-worker that if he helped me get a project back on track by working all weekend to get some drawings done for a big high profile project,  I'd write him a song. 

He did it, got it done, didn't get any recognition or reward, etc.. and didn't seek any.. so I wrote him a song. 

The song was based on several trips up to the Buffalo, NY area headquarters of Hebeler. I let him hear it right after it was done and he loved it. He worked down in the basement where the engineering department was and would collect plastic bottles and cans, etc and recycle them.. hence "Basement Bottle Man"

In performing it live and playing around Houston/Louisiana I quickly realized that nobody down along the Gulf Coast could really relate to a "Basement Bottle Man" so I re-worded it to "Bayou Bottle Man". 

I forget what service it was Broadjam or similar where the song got an award for "best baseline". The Baseline was inspired by riding to lunch with Tony in his "floating" Lumina (I think) and his driving style which reminded me of car chase scenes from "The Blues Brothers" :-) After 3 different sets of lyrics, a few minor song structure revisions, getting my buddy Matt Castille to play a guitar solo, when he was in the Houston Area for Mardi Gras, etc.. an instrumental version of the song was licensed to be on GearHeads on the MavTV Network. 

Fast forward to the time of this posting (March 2014). 

When I tried to reach out to Tony to tell him about his song being on TV, I learned that he passed away in 2013 after a long noble battle with cancer.
