Recently featured in flagship label compilation Anjunadeep 13, Russian producers Makebo and Amonita present new single ‘Back To The Roots’.

With many releases to their name as solo artists on labels including Lee Burridge’s All Day I Dream and Shanti Moscow Radio, Makebo and Amonita have recently becoming a powerful production duo, and last year founded their own imprint, Rubicunda, which has already won support from the likes of Tim Green and Volen Sentir.

Their new single, ‘Back To The Roots’ features the unmistakable strings sample from The Verve’s 1997 track ‘Bittersweet Symphony’ and shows off the pair’s prowess for crafting atmospheric organic house melodies.

First showcased by Hernán Cattáneo in his 2019 Burning Man set, ‘Back To The Roots’ has already seen support from the likes of Nick Warren and Vintage Culture, and after it was played by Anjunadeep label bosses James Grant and Jody Wisternoff at Printworks London last winter, it has become a hotly sought-after record, with over four million plays on YouTube already.

Argentinean DJ and producer Emi Galvin has consistently defied expectations throughout his much-lauded decade-long career. Through the success of early tracks like 2016's ‘Taking Over’ and ‘Universe’, the Buenos Aires resident emerged into one of the progressive scene’s most promising talents. A rich musical background with time spent in rock bands playing guitar and singing gave Emi’s electronic compositions a measurable creative edge. This elusive sound did not go unnoticed as he quickly earned the praise of genre tastemakers Cid Inc, Eelke Kleijn, Guy J, Guy Mantzur, Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren; while landing career defining releases via Balance, Sudbeat and The Soundgarden. Also an accomplished DJ, Emi’s long undulating sets have been applauded for their impeccable track selection and exquisite programming. As one of Argentina’s most in demand DJs, Emi has travelled the world, delighting crowds in Egypt, Greece, Hungary, Malta, Netherlands, Romania, Russia, Spain and more. A recent highlight in the Argentine’s sets has been his unofficial remix of Massive Attack’s ‘Girl I Love You.’ Released in 2010 as part of the band’s ‘Heligoland’ album, the song would go on to become one of the LP’s most recognizable tracks, racking up more than ten million plays on Spotify in the process. Meanwhile, hailing from Germany but now based in Brazil, D-Nox has continued to thrill fans with both cutting edge music and enlightening DJ sets. Whether operating in solo capacity or as one half of D-Nox and Beckers, the German artist lays claim to an impressive resume, highlighted by releases on Bedrock, Einmusika, Sudbeat and his own Sprout imprint. Having previously worked together for Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank imprint, Emi and D-Nox also took to re-imagining Underworld’s ‘Dark & Long’ earlier this year. Now over thirty years old, the Original version was the lead track on the British band’s third and most critically acclaimed album ‘dubnobasswithmyheadman’.
