Andy Allo is a Cameroonian-born singer, songwriter, model and actress who first grabbed Prince's attention in May, 2011 when she guested at the Troubadour shows in Los Angeles.
She was enlisted as guitarist when Prince embarked on the Welcome 2 America Euro Tour, late June 2011.

Musical Career
Early Career
Born in Bamenda, Cameroon, Allo developed an interest in music at an early age; her mother taught her to play the piano at age 7.
In 2009, she released her first independent album, 'UnFresh', a collection of 12 original songs. Her first single from the album is "Dreamland", featuring Blu.
Work With Prince
Allo joined The NPG in June 2011: she had a position as co-lead vocals and additional guitar player during Welcome 2 America Euro 2011 Tour and Welcome 2 Canada Tour. She was no longer part of the band in 2012, focusing instead on her own career.
She did still perform as an occasional guest in 2012.
For her own live performances she uses a band, sometimes referred to as 'The People Pleasers', that is made up of NPG members: Andrew Gouché (bass), John Blackwell (drums), Cassandra O'Neal (keyboards), Mike Scott (guitar), BK Jackson (saxophone), Marcus Anderson (saxophone), Adrian Crutchfield (saxophone), Lynn Grissett​ (trumpet), Steve Reid (trumpet), Joey Rayfield (trombone)

Who We Are

Those lucky enough to catch Cicada’s sensational appearance at the iTunes festival with David Guetta recently witnessed the roof being torn off during their new single ‘Psycho Thrills’… and with remixes from a throng of Europe’s finest talents – DJ Delicious, Aniki, Baldo & Dyebox - Cicada have put their dance music fans at the forefront of their minds.
        
        Better known for turning The Editors and Depeche Mode into modern dance floor destroyers, Cicada originally came to exist as the remix and production duo of Aaron Gilbert and Alex Payne, and in no time released a series of acclaimed remixes for artists as diverse as New Order, Paloma Faith, Electric Six, and even lad-rock heroes The Enemy. Through word-of-mouth and electrifying live & DJ performances, their self released debut album ' Cicada' sold over 30,000 copies and their just released album 'Roulette' looks set to follow. 
        
        In the past 2 years the Cicada have toured the world, becoming a festival and club staple in Australia, South America & Europe, performing alongside the likes of Cut Copy, Groove Armada and Deadmau5. After a slew of live gigs, Cicada have missed the dance floor terribly, and have decided to go back to their ‘dance’ roots, reeling in a succession of quality remixes for ‘Psycho Thrills’, from DJ Delicious's German Tech-Funk, Aniki's wonky breakdown, Baldo's melodic techy loveliness to newcomers Dyebox with their pure retro electro vocal number. Cicada’s Capricorn Original Mix is thrown in for good measure in all its pop glory. Something for everyone and a record that is set to be huge on the dancefloors this summer.

Cicada : Psycho Thrills (Dyebox Remix)

recent remix I did
I timed a copy of the track along the original track so the vocals at least would echo themselves on beat. It turned out a lot cooler than I thought it would. However, the bridge didn't work so well with the echo, so I left that unedited, then copied the ending of the song, and just double-tracked it (I don't know if that's the right terminology, but I basically just copied the ending and lined it up with the original on the same beat- in order to emphasize the energy). I also took that copy and warped it, creating an interesting stereo experience. It's not my best work, and only took me about 5 minutes of work... but I would appreciate any feedback. :) enjoy
